Every year, 636,000 people walk out of prison gates, but people go to jail over 11 million times each year. Jail churn is particularly high because most people in jails have not been convicted. Some have just been arrested and will make bail in the next few hours or days, and others are too poor to make bail and must remain behind bars until their trial. Only a small number (195,000) have been convicted, generally serving misdemeanors sentences under a year. 1 in 5 people are locked up for drug offenses. The bottom 50% earned 20% of the nation's pre-tax income in 1979; this fell steadily to 14% by 2007 and 13% by 2014. ... Half of the U.S. population lives in poverty or is low-income, according to U.S. Census data. The ACA only works when everyone is insured--otherwise people wait until they are sick to buy insurance and this makes insurance unaffordable. In a Center for American Progress survey of roughly 3,000 DACA recipients, nine-tenths of respondents said they had jobs. Their average hourly wage was $17.46 an hour, up from $10.29 before receiving DACA. About 72 percent of respondents were in higher education. After getting DACA, nearly 80 percent of respondents said they got driver's licenses. About half became organ donors.

Pennsylvania would benefit greatly! The tax revenue and jobs that it would create would be enormous, not to mention the fact that marijuana is significantly less harmful then alcohol and cigarettes, both of which are perfect legal for adults, yet the government tells us that marijuana is a harmful drug. Smoking and drinking has killed countless people every year. Marijuana has never killed anyone. Stop telling us what is good for us and prove to us that your pockets are not being filled by big alcohol or the tobacco industry.

As Target workers who are or support LGBTQ workers, we find it unconscionable that Target executives fund hate-based politicians who actively harm us as workers and members of the LGBTQ community. These actions by Target executives are completely at odds with their self-professed values of promoting diversity and inclusivity. Undermining the Judiciary process is eroding our democracy. Members of the GOP who are arbitrarily initiating actions to discredit the Mueller investigation are obstructing the process, which could ultimately undermine our system of justice. The American people have a right to know whether or not these actions are supported by facts that warrant opening up closed investigations, such as the Clinton investigation, or opening up an investigation that discredits the author of the Steele Dossier. If there are no supporting facts, then there should be consequences for these GOP members and they must desist from commenting on the investigation so that it might be completed as intended by our forefathers - independently.

I don't think it's fair that the white rich men are are having having the rich do their bidding. They cut corporate taxes. Because the rich wanted that. AT&T with other loop poles only paid 8% taxes last year. Taxes on Corporation wear what 35%. I Googled the richest corporations in America and they paid nothing in taxes because of loopholes. So now they're free and clear plus I get a tax credit to move overseas. AT&T gave the top tier and their companies bonuses this year but at the same time laid off 10,000 workers to move overseas. Because it get a tax credit for moving overseas. I am going to get rid of anything I have that has AT&T on it. Looking for a new company. AT&T is just an example. They said they bring more of employment to the people of the United States if we cut the corporate taxes. But Corporate America is greedy if they can get it done cheaper somewhere. People used to love the United States. Corporations love building jobs with benefits. It must have been in the olden days. I don't even want to even by America because it's all from China. Trump's already taking the protection of the redwood trees up in Northern California make money off that right Trump. He also went around when nobody was looking and said he could bring an animal trophies in the United States what's Obama got rid of. Trump's also when nobody was looking change the thing that you can bring trophies from Africa into the United States. Did you know that they're doing cancer research with elephants. Course I know the Republicans hate any kind of medical research they think it has something to do with a baby's pituitary gland from abortions but that's not true. We, residential citizens and homeowners residing in the city of Des Moines, WA, call on the Washington State Department of Transportation to install a traffic stop light at the corner of South 263rd Street and Pacific Highway South/State Highway 99. In 2005, a section of Pacific Highway South in Des Moines, WA was approved for rezoning by the city of Des Moines officials. The zoning conformed a section along Pacific Highway South from commercial to residential. This area today has 68 single family homes, and a small, undeveloped commercially zoned lot. These single-family homes were constructed between 2011-2016. The homeowners of this community only have ONE outlet to enter and exit this community, this being State Highway 99/Pacific Highway South. The 68 homeowners and the patrons and staff of Health Point clinic face daily congestion entering and exiting on South 263rd Street to and from State Highway 99. There is a high volume of traffic daily using South 263rd Street by the 68 homeowners and the patrons and staff of the Health Point Clinic. Parking is permitted on both the north and south side of the street on South 263rd Street, which is another contributing factor to the congestion entering and exiting on South 263rd Street. The merging conditions are unsafe onto Pacific Highway South/State Highway 99, from South 263rd Street, both merging north and south during rush hour. There are times other than rush hour when Pacific Highway South is busier than normal due to various circumstance pertaining to Interstate 5- accidents, construction, exit closures, etc. More often than not, the drivers on Pacific Highway South are exceeding the speed limit which makes entering traffic difficult. There are no stop lights or crosswalks between 260th-272nd Pacific Highway South, which contributes to the drivers exceeding the posted speed limit. It is illegal to cross more than one lane of traffic, this illegal lane crossing frequently happens when drivers exiting South 263rd Street need to go in the northbound direction on Highway 99. This is very unsafe. Technically the stop sign in place now on the SW corner of South 263rd Street should indicate that only a right turn is permitted. The U-Turn lane located directly across from South 263rd Street, that everyone exiting from South 263rd Street uses to go northbound on State Highway 99 is unusable from South 263rd Street, as reaching this turnaround/U-turn requires crossing more than one lane of traffic. This is not only illegal but unsafe. Considering that Pacific Highway South is the only outlet in and out of the Landmarque community of 68 single family homes, and also for the Health Point Clinic patrons and staff, we deem a traffic stop light necessary and should be installed at the intersection of South 263rd Street and State Highway 99/Pacific Highway South. The installation of a traffic stop light will provide SAFE and timely ingress and egress to and from our community to go North and South on Pacific Highway South/State Highway 99. This traffic stop light would also be beneficial for the patrons and staff of the Health Point Clinic located on the SW corner of South 263rd Street and Pacific Highway South. This clinic has at least 75 cars in and out daily entering and exiting on South 263rd Street, Monday-Friday. There is also a concern that we would NOT be able to expeditiously exit our community in the event of an emergency onto a busy State Highway with a 45 MPH speed limit. For the reasons stated above, we are of the opinion that a traffic stop light installation is necessary and warranted at Pacific Highway South and South 263rd Street.

As a citizen of the us, I demand the fbi be allowed to complete their investigation without the interference of senators who are charged with, and paid for, defending our country

ALL people on earth are now threatened by a psychologically unstable, mentally unfit U.S. President who tweets about the size and power of his "nuclear button" months after threatening to unleash "fire and fury" on the more than 25 million people of North Korea, in violation of the United Nations Charter and, therefore, under the "Supremacy Clause", of the U.S. Constitution, as well. A Yale psychiatrist recently testified for hours before Congress about Donald J. Trump's mental fitness (Yale psychiatrist briefed members of Congress on President Trump's mental fitness - CNNPolitics, and Washington's growing obsession: The 25th Amendment - POLITICO) , and Michael Wolff, author of "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House", says that "100%" of the people around Trump question his intelligence and fitness for office ('Fire and Fury' author doubles down on book's claims on Trump's mental health - AOL News). Before this dangerously unfit man uses the nuclear launch codes to start a nuclear war, he must be replaced.

An Innocent man has been in prison for approximately 28 years and has been denied an evidentiary hearing despite recantation of witnesses and 13 new affidavits. The same key coerced witness's testimony that ultimately got him convicted have recanted. However, the District Attorney and Judge have stated, they aren’t credible now! How could this be? These witnesses have never met or knew Kariem Broxton, aka "Kareem Broxton" before or after the conviction and only want to do the right thing, but the courts are not allowing them. This new evidence can most certainly free him. The law continues to be unjust and does not serve equity. One of the victim’s stated during trial, “Kariem Broxton did NOT shoot me, and I never saw him with a gun or shoot anyone.” Yet, Kariem was charged and convicted with attempted murder for shooting this victim…. This is not only unjust to Kariem, but to the victims and victims' family members.  We are trying to reach the attention of Melinda Katz, Bryce Benjet and Governor Kathy Hochul to implore that the Conviction Integrity Unit at least grant him an evidentiary hearing or FREE HIM. Kariem Broxton deserves to be FREE! The families of the victims deserve justice, re-investigate this case. This could be you, your son, brother, nephew, cousin or friend. This petition requires and deserves our signature.  Kariem Broxton deserves an evidentiary hearing so evidence can be heard and presented.  An Innocent man should be freed from a crime he did not commit, and the victims / victim's family deserve justice.
