• Citizens for a Humane Commute
Joe Lhota plans to pack 80 - 100 more people into each subway car by eliminating seats. How is this overcrowding safe? Children, seniors, people with medical conditions or challenges need seats. Hardworking New Yorkers deserve seats. This is about safety- and quality of life! Safety and civility should be NYC priorities. Stop worsening the inhumane conditions of our subways -give us back our seats!

  • Pass the Marijuana Justice Act
It is time to stop the war on drugs! More and more minorities are being thrown into jail for possession of small amounts of marijuana and the government is acting unjustly. Funds are being exerted on lesser crimes when we have bigger issues at hand in this country. Pass the Marijuana Justice Act.

  • Stand with families of gun violence victims who want to reinstate the assault weapons ban
Immediately following Pulse I took my sadness, my anger, and turned it into action when I joined Pride Fund to End Gun Violence’s Board of Advisors, to ensure another pulse didn’t happen to anyone ever again. But on October 02, 2017, it did...this time in Las Vegas. We can’t wait any longer. We’re fed up with Congress’s refusal to pass commonsense legislation that we know will save lives. The Pride Fund’s agenda is what we all know just makes sense: Expand background checks to cover all gun sales. Prohibit suspected terrorists from purchasing guns. Restrict access to assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Support federally funded research on gun violence. And prevent those convicted of committing hate crimes from purchasing guns. Our mission is to turn tragedy into action by raising and spending money to elect Democrats at the state and federal levels who support common sense gun reforms and champion LGBTQ equality. The Pride Fund is the only LGBTQ political organization solely focused on enacting gun policy reforms to ensure safety for all.

  • Senator Heller: Give back money from the NRA
This issue is clearly more timely than ever with the mass shooting that happened in Las Vegas. More than 50 innocent people lost their lives. More than 500 innocent people were wounded. Our entire state and country was impacted. Common sense gun control, and banning devices such as bump stocks, like the one used in Sunday's tragedy, should be a top priority. Our senators should be beholden to the citizens they serve, not to the NRA and other such organizations.

  • Common sense Gun control
I am starting this petition because it is common sense! How many people have to die for this to stop?! We do not need guns that can spray bullets into a crowd and shoot, kill or maime hundreds of people in 11 minutes! It has nothing to do with the second amendment or gun control, it is COMMON SENSE! Our government has to stop allowing these people to hide under that umbrella! We live in one of the greatest countries in the world we should feel safe and protected here. 9-11 happens and it changes how we travel forever. We have been given many chances and many signs that things have got to change. The time is NOW. Our forefathers did not envision this when they wrote the constitution, and definitely not when they wrote the second amendment. They are rolling over in their graves. #UWW

  • Parents of America: Please don't buy toy machine guns for your children
The day after the Las Vegas tragedy, I walked into a toy store and was shocked to see that right up front they were selling toy automatic rifles and machine guns. We might not be able to get Congress to regulate firearms, but can we support parents and caretakers of our children to not buy these pretend weapons? I plan to ask all toy store managers to take these off of the shelves, and to boycott any stores that think it is ok to make money this way. Please join me and pass this along.

  • !!!We Need The Bumper Plates!!!
The NYU Brooklyn Athletic Facilities (BAF) made the decision to remove one of the most essential equipment -- the bumper plates. Gym members were in shock upon realizing there is not a single bumper plate left at the gym. The gym management team claimed that the removal of the bumper plates is for the safety of the individuals, and for maintenance of the equipment. However, without information on the number of incidents that are directly related to using the bumper plates and the damages of equipment that are proven to be caused by using the bumper plates, simply removing one of the most essential equipment is NOT an effective solution. In addition, it is claimed that people who work at the office located in the weight room have complained about noises from using the bumper plates. An office that is inside a weight room contains certain risks due to its inappropriate location and its poorly designed infrastructure. The effort of maintaining a "quiet" work environment for a cubicle located in a weight room should not be made at the expense of sacrificing the training of the very people who give essence to the gym.

  • Lift limits on studying gun violence.
My very being is affected every time there I hear about a mass shooting. That single persons are provided the means to carry out such acts, but the general public is not allowed to research what leads to them, is not in line with the 2nd amendment.

  • Get Medicare to cover the OmniPod insulin pump
I am a type 1 diabetic. I wear an insulin pump with a tube attached to my stomach that delivers insulin. The other end of this tube is connected to a meter that I have to wear all the time. I'm constantly trying to find a place to keep my meter. I wore the OmniPod before my insurance changed. I miss the freedom of not having a tube coming out of my stomach going to a meter that I have to wear all the time. It's like having an anchor attached to you 24/7.

  • Stop Google Selling Guns
Google actively promotes companies that advertise and sell military style weapons and paraphernalia. Google Shopping lists companies that sell guns directly over the internet; Youtube hosts thousands of videos that celebrate, advertise, and instruct people on the use of these products. Most people working at Google have strong principles and try to do the right thing. It's time for management to demonstrate a level of social responsibility consistent with the company's influence and market power. Google's leadership team doesn't have to take a public position on the first and second amendments; it just needs to take a position on its corporate values. If you say "Don't be Evil", then explain and demonstrate what you mean. From Google's "Code of Conduct" “Don’t be evil.” Googlers generally apply those words to how we serve our users. But “Don’t be evil” is much more than that ... it’s also about doing the right thing... acting honorably... https://abc.xyz/investor/other/google-code-of-conduct.html
