The NRA keeps common sense regulations on firearms from being enacted by buying our legislators. As a Colorado resident I am sick of mass murders enabled by the gun lobby.

I am from Iowa, and I will not stand for my elected officials taking NRA contributions that prevent them from considering common sense gun laws. We have to start now. We are not asking that all guns be taken away form private citizens, but automatic and semi-automatic weapons have no place in our homes. They are weapons not used for hunting or self-defense, but are made for killing mass numbers of people. We need to hold our elected officials accountable for making gun violence in the U.S. a pervasive and devastating problem. Call and write your Senators and Representatives to ask that they return their NRA funds and pass legislation for gun regulation in the U.S. We need laws that ban assault weapons among private citizens and legislation that ensures we run background checks and have a proper registration system for owning guns. It is not against the second amendment to create a culture of responsible gun owners.

It's supposedly legal, but I can't figure out how to get it here.

The future of the United States is at risk with a mentally unstable lunatic in the WH.

Imagine waking up one morning and being told that the only home you've ever known is not yours to have. Imagine rebuilding a life where you don't know the culture or in some cases, the language. These Dreamers are working hard and are constructive citizens in our country--why would we push them away for that? They deserve a path to legalization that helps them remain assets to our society!

Concealed carry without any training or licensing is dangerous and unnecessary and that is the case in Idaho including on college campuses. Pretty soon there will be more regulations on trained law enforcement than anyone who wants to purchase a gun to conceal and carry. And there is not a place in America for assault style rifles. They are designed for one thing: to kill humans. I don't feel safe at all with the natural progression of the unlicensed, untrained conceal and carry trend and the prolifiration of assault rifles.

What happened to the kids and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School near where I live in Florida is a tragedy, but once again Senator Rubio stood with the NRA instead of protecting his own constituents or the American people. Rubio still wants civilians to have assault weapons. And he said on Twitter that it's a "terrible day you pray never comes" about the attack while going on CNN a week later and refusing to distance himself from the NRA. Thoughts and prayers are not enough–especially when he's cozy with the NRA's extreme agenda! If you ask me this is bribe money. How else can you explain such a lack of action to stop gun violence when our children and community members are being slaughtered? Rubio and his fellow Republicans have taken tens of millions from the NRA and the gun lobby! No wonder Rubio keeps siding with gun manufacturers over the safety of our kids. We have to stop all politicians from taking money from the NRA and gun lobby! We need them to work for "the People" not for big business! Sen. Rubio is a national Republican figure, and we must hold him accountable for what he and his party are doing to our communities.

Evil persists when Good Men do nothing.

We are in a period of sustained egregious behavior from our country's top leader who is carrying out policies that are an assault on our humanity's future. Never is the time to support silencing varying viewpoints in our country, and particularly in the case of an intelligent African American female reporter.

Birth control is a major women's rights issue, it gives women autonomy over their own health and life. Access to birth control helps women not only in the arena of pregnancy, but also serves an important role in women's health. Let us not go backwards in history to a time where women had little to no control over their own bodies.

He must show the courage to put the lives and well-being of constituents above money, or we should remove him from office on November 6, 2018.
