• Save The American Dream - DACA 4 ALL
DACA excluded millions of immigrants who contribute to our economy, add value to our communities and are as American as Apple Pie. Leaving millions of our friends and family members to live in fear is cruel and only hurts us morally and economically. Fear of deportation and all the terrifying human rights abuse that comes along with our current system, is wrong. Immigration should not be based on a litmus test or reserved for only academics. Help me fight Human rights abuse, oppression, human trafficking and FOR- PROFIT detention centers. Sign this petition to demand common sense immigration laws. America is a nation of immigrants, that's our strength. That's what makes us different. Criminalizing people for wanting a free and happy life is not what this country stands for. Please sign and share this petition to demand our Federal Government protect all undocumented immigrants living here as of today. Those who work and sweat for this country should not be oppressed. We will not settle for another version of DACA that divides immigrants by class, education or any other arbitrary reason. Save The American Dream!

  • Put children and families first.
The Trump administration is pushing through a tax agenda that will benefit profitable corporations and wealthy individuals at the expense of low- and middle-income children and families. Meanwhile, the administration has fallen short in its response to the disaster in Puerto Rico. Congress missed the deadline to extend the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and is now attempting to attach Medicaid cuts to the bill in order to fund the Trump tax cuts. The pattern is clear. Our government should prioritize the needs of children and families, not corporations and the wealthiest individuals.

  • No birth control, no viagra!!!
I'm furious about this. Have these people no mothers, daughters, wives, women friends? Do they not care about women's health at all? Do they have no sense of cause and effect, i.e. no birth control leads to more unintended pregnancies leads to more (back-alley) abortions. I read that the military spends millions of dollars on Viagra for its personnel, but the government won't fund this basic element of women's health care. ENOUGH.

  • New Orleans City Council Say No To More Gas/Liquor Stations
Help Holy Cross Neighborhood Association Stop This: The Lower Nine needs progressive businesses and growth. Rebuilding our area should be a top priority for the Council, and Gas/Liquor Stores impede positive growth and create unsafe environments. Help stop the approval and come to the Council Meeting, Oct 12th. We are not in favor, and do not support, the Proposed Conditional Use of both the Gas Station Use and the Retail Sale of Alcohol Beverages Use at this location for the following reasons: • Gas Station developments do not help in revitalizing neighborhoods • Package Alcohol & Liquor Stores have documented negative Health and Safety effects on surrounding communities • Gas Stations have documented negative Environmental, Health, and Safety effects on surrounding Residential neighborhoods • 5330 St Claude is a corner site with significant potential for a dense, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use development; this proposed development does not meet and is not compatible with this potential. • The Conditional Use Proposed does not match the Historic St Claude Main Street Corridor. It does not meet the requirements of the CZO and the Multiple Zoning Overlays on St Claude Avenue. • The proposed development and Conditional Use does not meet redevelopment goals for St Claude Ave as envisioned by our Community and the City of New Orleans in the many Community Planning Efforts post-Katrina. Sincerely, Mr. William Waiters, President Holy Cross Neighborhood Association [email protected]

  • Tax Returns Required
The purpose of this petition is to allow the public the ability to discover potential conflicts of interest that could affect the candidate's future work. Prior to the 2016 election, this has been a tradition but not a requirement. However, given the level of conflict of interest displayed in the current administration this disclosure should be made a requirement to prevent future corruption and oligarchic possibilities at the federal level.

  • Impeach Jeff Sessions
Enforcing and protecting the Civil Rights of ALL Americans should be of vital concern to all of us. As an LGBT individual the position of the Justice Department on such issues affects me very directly, but this is really not about me, this is about the millions of Americans, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Allies who find themselves or their loved ones being relinquished to second-class citizenship by Jeff Sessions' actions.

  • Tell Congress to Raise the Profile of US Virgin Islands Hurricane Relief
The truth is, we have two crises in the US Caribbean post Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The islands were destroyed by Irma and drowned by Maria. The University of Virgin Islands alone sustained significant damage, and at the time that I am writing this petition, their classes are suspended indefinitely. The institution is presently trying to raise almost $1,000,000 to feed, clothe, and house students and staff in recovery and rebuild their campuses so that classes can resume. If a voice is raised for USVI as it is for Puerto Rico, I believe UVI might twice exceed its goal. I believe that if progressives are going to make a lackluster disaster response for Puerto Rico a matter of racial victimization, leaving USVI out of the discussion all together is a "criminal" ignorance that handily contributes to the American spirit and climate of anti-Blackness. Please raise the profile of disaster relief efforts in the USVI so that these Americans are not invisible and forgotten.

  • Make bump stocks illegal
Bump stocks turn semi automatic rifles into automatic machine guns. American citizens have become aware of this device through the slaughter of defenseless victims in LasVegas. Our constitution does NOT, either literally or implied, allow any and all firearms accessories protection under the second amendment. Americans with common sense must join to get these off of the streets. If not, future mass murders will lead to greater and greater numbers of victims.

  • Stop Senate Tax Cuts For Top 1%
We The People will need to march, rally, engage in peaceful acts of civil disobedience and have millions sign this petition to stop the Senate from passing this enrichment for the ruling class of oligarchs. The House budget resolution set up a procedure for fast-track consideration of tax legislation, enabling Senate Republicans to bypass bipartisanship to pass a tax plan with just 51 votes. We need three Republican Senators to vote NO while all Democrats vote NO as well.
