• Medicare/CDPHP Insurance Denied Treatment for Rare Form of Cancer/Out of State Treatment for Joyc...
Joyce's local doctor can no longer treat her and her only treatment option is at Bringham Women's Hospital in Boston. Medicare and CDPHP have denied this surgery as the hospital is out of state. She has dedicated her life to helping others in the community, raising 13 children of her own and developing the leaders of tomorrow through Mother Teresa Academy (a Non-Profit school that she founded). She has a lifetime of giving back to the community and now it is our time to give back to her and send a clear message to the insurance companies to approve her claim for the surgery that is needed. Help Joyce get the care she needs to continue her mission in life by signing this petition.

  • Comica: please publish an official English tranlation of Take Care of my Housekeeper
A lot of people from all over the world (I'm Brazilian, for example) have become invested in this manhwa (가정부를 부탁해) through a non-official translation, which has now been dropped, respecting the author wishes. It's only right: the author deserves the official page hits for their lovely story! However, most of us cannot read Korean; we find common ground in the English language and would all read the comic in your site if there was an official translation. I think this would benefit everyone, so please, consider it. :)

  • Save the Department of Justice and our democracy from Russian Influence
In this time of our ongoing cyber-war with Russia in which Russia is actively hacking our voter rolls and manipulating social media to create dissension in our country to weaken our democracy, it is especially important that the director of the criminal division of the Department of Justice HAVE NO CURRENT OR PREVIOUS TIES TO RUSSIA. In light of all his multiple Russian related investigations currently underway, for Trump to nominate Brian Benczkowski, a man with strong ties to Russia,** is a suspicious decision. To approve him would be unwise, unsafe, and compromise the independence of the Mueller investigation. IT THEREBY RISKS THE FUTURE OF OUR DEMOCRACY. ***Note the following suspicious connections and concerns regarding Benczkowski, as well as Benczkowski’s cavalier and reckless responses when asked about issues related to the Mueller investigations: 1. Benczkowski worked on the Trump campaign and transition from September 2016 to January 2017. 2. Benczkowski admits to representing Alfa Bank, one of Russia’s largest financial institutions with purported ties to Putin, in their effort to sue BuzzFeed over publishing the Trump-Russia dossier. 3. Benczkowski represented Russia's Alfa Bank until June 6 — the day he was formally nominated to lead the Justice Department's criminal division, even though Attorney General Jeff Sessions first approached him about the Justice Department position in April. 4. Benczkowski's additional work for Alfa Bank "went to the heart of the reported [FBI] investigations" (per Diane Fienstein) into the bank's involvement in unusual computer server activity with the Trump Organization during the election. 5. Alfa Bank's server repeatedly looked up the contact information for a computer server being used by the Trump Organization [during the election] — far more than other companies did, representing 80% of all lookups to the Trump server." Mr. Benczkowski said the bank hired his firm, Kirkland & Ellis, after additional odd data transmissions were detected in February and March, and that he oversaw an American computer security company’s work analyzing that traffic. Asked why he did not also have the firm look at data reaching back to last fall, Mr. Benczkowski disclosed that Alfa Bank had not retained its server traffic data from September to January because it was too voluminous. 6. After he found out about his potential nomination in April 2017, he continued his representation of Alfa Bank until his actual nomination in June 2017. 7. Diane Feinstein stated that it was "clear" to her that Benczkowski had knowledge of issues related to the ongoing investigation and therefore asked him if he would commit to recusing himself from cases involving Alfa Bank and matters involving Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russia's election interference. Benczkowski would not commit to recusing himself.

  • Turn over credit ratings to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
More than 143 million Americans had their personal financial data stolen because Equifax put profit over safety. This included social security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account info, and much more. This is unacceptable - no private, for-profit company should have our data without our consent. It's time to turn over the critical job of protecting our data and providing credit ratings and reports to CFPB, an accountable public agency designed to protect consumers.

  • WE THE PEOPLE want a unifying national anthem
We need a national anthem that unites Americans to form "a more perfect union," We need an anthem that celebrates our diversity which makes America "a meting pot of cultures and ideas" so that we can lead the world in peace and human achievements toward the betterment of mankind and the preservation of our planet. We must unshackle ourselves from our current anthem that celebrates war with bombs bursting and references to slavery.

  • DeVos: Do not protect rapists on college campuses
Trump's Education Department announced last week that universities were free to raise the bar for evidence in holding students responsible for rape. This move rescinded two Obama-era protections for victims of sexual assault, making campuses across the nation more dangerous. Halfway through my second year at Grinnell College in Iowa, I was sexually assaulted. I think frequently about how much less safe my school was for the people around me, who continued to attend class and live with my rapist. Despite my rapist facing no punitive action, Grinnell took some steps toward preventing sexual violence: during my time in college, between 5 and 10 repeat offenders in their class were suspended or expelled for Title IX infractions. Despite my own abuser remaining on campus, I felt safer knowing that serial rapists were not welcome in our community. Betsy DeVos just took away that security. The security that needed to be expanded, not eliminated, for gender justice. We cannot sit back and allow our communities of learning to become dangerous for all students, and safe for perpetrators of violence. Sign on to tell Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration that we won’t stand for keeping rapists on our college campuses.

The United States Trade Representative has pledged to wrap up the NAFTA renegotiation by years end (2017). We need to tell Congress now what a renegotiated NAFTA that puts people and the planet first before corporations looks like. Congress must say no to a trade deal that includes ISDS.

  • Please protect the students of New Haven Residential Treatment Center
New Haven Residential Treatment Center has been abusing and neglecting minors with mental health who have been placed in their care. Students are threatened not to talk, including removing phone privileges and contact with the outside world, in order to prevent them from speaking out. All staff are legally mandated reporters, yet the incidents are majorly underreported. Most incidents are shoved under the rug as "attention seeking" or "behavioral issues." Students who attempted to leave campus to call the cops were physically restrained and lost phone privileges. Alumni started to post on their Facebook page. Reviews were turned off and posts were deleted. New Haven should be a haven first and a business second. They have refrained from responding to reports of abuse in order to save face, completely neglecting the needs of those they claim to help. Please hold New Haven liable for their actions and protect the girls there currently. Give them a voice! http://fox13now.com/2017/09/26/utah-county-therapist-arrested-for-alleged-sexual-abuse-of-underage-girl/ This incident happened at New Haven, yet they have not commented on it and their name was emitted from the article. Please stop protecting this horrible institution!! Their business and money don't matter when the lives of so many teens are at risk!
