• US President Donald Trump Must Resign
President Trump must leave the presidency. Impeachment takes too long. Save us the hassle. This petition is not about corruption or ideology. It is about competence, mental health (of President Trump and everyone else) and job suitability. Vice President Pence is no panacea. He follows a rigid right-wing ideology that does not reflect the views of the 99%. However, he may be more suited for the job. We'll see.

  • @Theresa_May: Act Now at @UKUN_NewYork to Save Yemen from Famine
The United Nations Security Council, which under the UN Charter is responsible for protecting international peace and security, has failed to stop the Saudi-UAE war and blockade on Yemen which has pushed Yemen to the brink of famine. A key reason is that the UK, which under UK Prime Minister Theresa May is closely aligned with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, is the Security Council "penholder" on Yemen, which means that any UN Security Council resolution on Yemen has to be drafted by the UK. Theresa May's government has used this power to shield Saudi Arabia and the UAE from diplomatic pressure at the UN for their catastrophic actions in Yemen. [1] U.N. officials have said that the threatened Saudi-UAE attack on the crucial Yemeni port of Hodeida would almost certainly push Yemen into famine by cutting off food and medicine imports into northern Yemen. But David Beasley, head of the World Food Program, says diplomatic efforts to protect Hodeida have failed. "I was hopeful two weeks ago that was about to resolve, but evidently that hasn’t happened," Beasley said. [2] Theresa May alone currently wields the power to initiate a Security Council resolution to save Yemen from famine by protecting Hodeida. Urge Theresa May to save Yemen from famine by signing our petition. • Limit presidential war powers
I am concerned that the American public will be easily deceived by a "wag the dog" military engagement and I am concerned that such a conflict could escalate and cause greater unrest or violence in the world, directly affecting those involved of course, but indirectly affecting the rest of us economically and the US's standing and goodwill.

  • Local Petition: Free Acess to Hunting Island State Park for all Beaufort County Residents
We the undersigned, request free access for all Beaufort County residents to Hunting Island State Park. Our counterparts in Hilton Head Island enjoy free Forest Beach, so why can't we enjoy ours for the same! Many residents of Beaufort County can not access Hilton Head, simply because the cost of gas is too much! Furthermore, many residents of Beaufort County can not afford a $75.00 a year for a beach pass, plus it is 22 miles to get to Hunting Island from Beaufort and Lady's Island with added fuel costs! In addition, Beaufort, Hilton Head, Fripp, and Dawtaw Islands generate millions of dollars in tourism to offset our simple request. People from out of state and foreign countries spend their money here and more than offset the costs of Hunting Island's maintenance. We the people of Beaufort County enjoy camping too! But it comes at a premium and we would like to see substantial discounts for anyone camping who possesses a state drivers license or state ID bearing the words Beaufort County!

  • Notre Dame: Rescind Your Awful Invite to VP Pence To Be May 21 Commencement Speaker
An alumnus who supports the separation of church and state and is concerned about the "optics" of having the President or VP be the commencement speaker at a faith- based school. Example: Trump at Liberty University last weekend.

  • Ask the Presidents Emeriti to speak out as a group
I'm deeply worried about the egregious personal issues Mr. Trump exhibits as President - his lying, his lack of self-control, his narcissism, and more. I'm also (quite literally) scared of what could happen as the result of many of his Administration's initiatives and policies. I hope all five living former Presidents will speak out as a bipartisan group and express their views on what they see happening in the White House every day.

  • Defend the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument!
In January 2017, President Obama added 48,000 acres in Oregon and California to the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. Two separate lawsuits were filed opposing the expansion of the monument in February 2017, both citing impact on the timber industry. The Western Environmental Law Center intervened in both lawsuits to defend the expansion.

  • Please Renew the Lawrence O'Donnell Show
We need to have a progressive media answer to Fox. In recent weeks they have hired or promoted some decidedly right-wing personalities. Former Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren now has her own show on MSNBC. Former communications director for George W, Bush, Nicolle Wallace, also just premiered a new program. Likewise conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt. This week MSNBC announced that it has hired old-school conservative George Will away from Fox News.

  • 05/15/17 Minnesota Legislators: Provide Adequate Funding For Veterans And Low-income Transit Rid...
It's completely unacceptable to ignore funding for our veterans here in MN, that need burial, a safe way to get into the Mpls. Vets Home, and Repairs and Improvements for ALL MN Vets Homes, and unacceptable to leave Winona, MN moderate to low income citizens without affordable transit services to outlying areas such as Rochester, for needed specialized medical care and other necessities that Winona doesn't have. This sends a message to the citizens of MN, that we are not valued, respected, or even cared about. Sign on before the session end date of 05/22/17, so our legislators are aware that they are accountable to us, their constituents, and that they work for us, and that we will not accept neglect as something normal.
