Students are being kicked out of class over hair colors that aren't "natural." Parents are being forced to pay to have their childrens' hair redyed because the schools will not let them back into class. Students look for anyway they can to express themselves. One easy, fun, and painless way is to dye their hair. Many use this as a way to step out of their comfort zone and put themselves out there to make friends and become more confident.

We. Are sick of having our rights violated by and oversized and over zealous police force. We pay excessive taxes and fees and have every right to occupy public space.

Russia's elected leaders are out of control -- and we can't stand for it any longer. First came a ban on the adoption of Russian-born children not only to gay couples but also to any couple or single parent living in any country where marriage equality exists. Then came a law allowing police officers to arrest tourists and foreign nationals they suspect of being homosexual, lesbian or “pro-gay” and detain them for up to 14 days. And then the "gay propaganda" law, making any parent who tells their child that being gay is okay, any Pride parade organizer, any health official distributing information regarding safe sex between same-sex partners, even a judge or lawyer, can be subject to arrest or fine. Already people are being arrested, beaten, intimidated and more. One lawmaker even vowed that foreign nationals attending the 2014 Sochi Olympics would be subject to this. The St. Petersburg Assembly led the way for the "gay propaganda" law, legalizing it in 2012. The Los Angeles City Council failed to take action then, and Russia took the law nationwide recently. It is time for action now. In 1979, Los Angeles suspended its sister city relationship with Tehran, Iran over the hostage crisis. We can and should do so now. If we build enough pressure in advance of the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Russia will be forced to act. In support of PA Senate Bill 719, we seek to bring marriage equality for the LGBT community to Pennsylvania. The relationships of LGBT Pennsylvanians deserve to be treated equally and fairly under the law.

In 2011, during a routine family divorce hearing in Clark County, Nevada, Monica Contreras was sexually assaulted by a court official. She was forced into an room, subjected to an impromptu “strip search,” and subjected to cruel,unusual, and inhumane treatment. After this humiliating and dehumanzing trial and tribulation, she sought to inform Judge Patricia Doninger of the assault upon her body and her rights. She was threatened with incarceration, if she did not recant her testimony, while her and her daughter's plea for help and clemency were left unanswered. She was faced with an apathetic Judge and an vicious court staff. Refusing to take back her words, she was arrested, jailed and her daughter was taken from her. No person, of any star or stripe, should be subjected to this kind of treatment. On this day, the system of Justice stopped working for the common man. Justice was silent, unmoved by the pleas of a mother and her daughter. Instead of serving the public good, the law served the interests of the system rather than its citizens. Patricia Doninger, had a duty; an obligation, a moral imperative to serve justice and the oath she swore to uphold. Instead she allowed justice to be circumnavigated and circumvented into a perverse and twisted amalgamation of the law. Although Patricia Doninger was 'let go,' for her actions, she should be made to stand for her woeful callousness and disregard of Monica Contreras, her daughter, and the rights that all citizens enjoy. No daughter should be forced to plea for her mother, only to have her stripped away. No mother should be forced to pick between her rights and her daughter. 1) Ms. Contreras’ right to free speech was impinged upon. She was never able to exercise this fundamental right or receive acknowledgement by the Judge. 2) No probable cause was given for the strip-search, or the cause was woefully insufficient, therefore the search was invalid and extralegal. Ms. Contreras was illegally searched, which violated her rights under the fourth amendment—based on the United States Constitution. 3) Ms. Contreras was falsely accused of making 'false allegations against a public official'. No law exists in state or municipal codes. Since no cause could warrant her arrest, she was falsely arrested and imprisoned--against her will. 4) Mrs. Patricia Doninger showed conduct unbecoming of an elected public official. For this reason, she should be censured. 5) Ms. Contreras' 14th amendment rights, under the equal protection clause, were violated, numerous times. Due to the constant abuse and neglect of disabled people in these facilities and witnessing and audiotaping an actual attack and assault on my son (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGJFHh9NcV4), cameras need to be installed immediately in these facilities and homes to protect the constitutional and humane rights of disabled people and to catch, remove and punish those who abused them!

Tell Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt to issue a legal opinion on whether the state's proof of citizenship requirement to register to vote is valid now that the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a similar law in Arizona. With 13,000 Kansas voters already in limbo, a number that grows by nearly 2,000 more each month as a result of this provision, we need action now.

I just think that this law is wrong, people love who they love. I am 14 and I am bisexual. This is a problem that many people face in America. I am also wondering what the states reasoning is in denying marriage. All the reasons I have seen are with religion, this is a religiously tolerant country, one of the main things that make this country a free country.

My son is an eleven year old black male in America, along with the very small population of black males left in this great country and I fear for their lives. The land of the free? Trayvon Martin and Everett Gant are among the many black individuals in Florida that are negatively being affected by this law with no clear boundaries.
