• Senate: Pass the DISCLOSE Act now!
Before we push through a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and McCutcheon, we're going to need a transparency bill to reveal just how much money is corrupting our politics.

  • Boycott Hobby Lobby and Tell Congress to Act on Behalf of Women
I am starting this petition and pledge not to do any business with Hobby Lobby, because women should have the right to decent reproductive health care. One powerful socially progressive force is the daily purchase decisions of individuals.

  • Storm chaser law Act 24
We as storm restoration contractor's lose thousands of dollars every year. Homeowners sign into a contract to have work performed which then we finance their job until the insurance company pays the rcv amount when the repairs are completed . Homeowner receives check and some forget to turn the check over to contractor. Act 24 is a new law that went into affect January 1, 2014 which protects the insurance company ! Example: Contractor starts repairs the insurance company missed 2nd layer of shingles. Contractor supplements insurance company for additional funds. Insurance company denies the funds the homeowner then can cancel within 3 days and be refunded their money. Even if the repairs are done. Another example Act 24 does not allow the contractor to talk policy nor pricing with the insured or the insurance company ! Most homeowners do not understand how the claim process works. We are honest people here making a living for our families and the insurance companies are making us out to be bad people. Wtmj Am 620 had a show last week on this Act 24 and what a show it was! Let's get this law revised and protect the contractor , insured and the insurance company !

  • COSTCO is supporting Koch companies
I'm a single working mother on a very limited income. I like to shop at Costco because they treat their employees well, carry many organic products, and have good prices. However, I am very disturbed to find out that my money is supporting the Koch brothers through items such as Dixie cups and plates. I don't want a dime of my money to go to any company they own or in which they have stock options. Please help cut off the supply that feeds those greedy, prejudiced, corrupt brothers.

  • Sign and send the petition: Demand FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler hold public hearings on net neutrality
In the past few weeks, an overwhelming number of comments have been filed at the FCC in favor of protecting an open internet and real net neutrality. Despite this, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has not scheduled large, public field hearings. Before Chairman Wheeler considers passing rules which could end net neutrality and open the door for pay-to-play lanes, he should face the American public by holding large, open public meetings across the country. In addition to voices from the grassroots, FCC commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel has indicated her support for more public input. Rep. Mike Honda issued a letter inviting the Chairman to hold public meetings in Silicon Valley. Further, Senator Pat Leahy took matters into his own hands and plans to hold a public field hearing for constituents in Vermont on July 1. Join the voices calling for Wheeler to hold large, open public field hearings. Sign and send the petition to the FCC demanding the Chairman come out and face the public support for real net neutrality.

  • United Airlines: Respect New Jersey, Do Your Part to Provide Good Jobs at Newark Airport
As one of the largest employers in New Jersey and the largest carrier at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), United can improve the lives of thousands of New Jersey-based airport workers. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) recently established minimum wage and benefit standards for subcontracted airport workers, including 4,000 EWR workers, and set a timetable for a more comprehensive policy package that ensures living wages and benefits, including health benefits. American Airlines and Delta agreed to honor the wage increases, but United Airlines and its subcontractors have not, leaving thousands of New Jersey airport workers in poverty. Newark is United's second largest hub in the world and subcontracted workers that make it possible for things to run smoothly there deserve better.
