FORECLOSURE FRAUD PETITIONThe Mortgage Loan Crisis, which led to the current financial crisis and recession, has lead to a Foreclosure Crisis in the County of Santa Barbara. Foreclosure sales and evictions have occurred, and are continuing to occur, that are clearly irregular and illegal. People are losing their homes without due process of law. On March 12th, Occupy Santa Barbara, along with Occupy groups from across California, simultaneously rallied at county recorder offices across the State to call attention to the massive and ongoing foreclosure fraud. This petition was presented to 3 County officials (the Recorder, DA, and Sherriff) on the 12th and will be presented to the Board of Supervisors on April 3rd. You can find more info about the event and the full text of the petition at http://occupysb.org/foreclosures/.150 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Mike Weissman

WALMART: Refuse to Carry Monsanto's GMO Sweet CornMonsanto has plans to sell its new genetically engineered sweet corn seed for planting this spring, and even though this new crop is intended for human consumption and will likely be sold fresh off the cob, it has never been tested for human food safety. We would like Walmart to commit by April 1, 2012 to not sell Monsanto’s genetically engineered sweet corn variety in their stores. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and General Mills say they won't handle it. Walmart has made a pledge of sustainability, which does not support carrying GMO corn. 90% of all Americans want GMO foods labeled, because they don't want to eat them. We deserve the right to know what we are eating. Even China and Russia label GMO foods. Please refuse Monsanto's untested, unlabeled, and potentially unsafe sweet corn!136 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Geoffrey C Saign

The TRUTH About Gas Prices and WHO Controls IT ALLTo bring attention to the Anti-Excessive Speculation Act of 2011. A critical bill currently before Congress created by Sen Bill Nelson [FL] and Co-sponosored by Sen Blumenthal, Richard [CT],Sen Rockefeller, John D., IV [WV], Sen Sanders, Bernard [VT]. Bill is known as S.1598. Why do two or three men need to make billions of dollars on a future price that WE THE PEOPLE will pay for gas...because we let them? Enough is enough, Gas futures are a piracy of THE PEOPLE. It reminds me of Enron. Those guys were getting ready to start trading on the weather when it all unraveled. This is not any different in my opinion. Our "one" voice is LOUD! We can make them do the right thing for the people! "Stop Feeding Us Superbugs!"-14 year old needs your help.More and more Amerikcans are dying because of infections caused by antibiotic resistance. 70-80% of all anibiotics made by drug companies are used in animal feed. This meat ends up on our plates.I want the factory farmers (meat industry)industry to stop routinely adding antibiotics to animal feed. Factory farmers don't need to do this. Europe doesn't routinely add antibiotics to animal fee. Our future health depends on it.60 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carmen Pickard

Don’t Give Away Alaska’s OilAlaskan oil producers are pushing hard to convince the Alaska Legislature to lower taxes on oil production. Contrary to Gov. Parnell’s assertions, in public testimony the oil companies have promised nothing in return for this free windfall: no increased development, production, or investment. Oil prices and profits are the highest they have ever been. Please say NO to giving away Alaska’s most valuable resource.1,414 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Jamelia Saied

Mr. President, Veto H.R. 347 to ensure the right to free assembly!A bill passed Monday (3/06/12) in the US House of Representatives and Thursday in the Senate would make it a felony—a serious criminal offense punishable by lengthy terms of incarceration—to participate in many forms of protest associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the “anti-Occupy” law, but its implications are far broader. The bill—H.R. 347, or the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011”—was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate, while only Ron Paul and two other Republicans voted against the bill in the House of Representatives (the bill passed 388-3). Not a single Democratic politician voted against the bill. This bill seriously compromises the Constittional right to freedom of assembly and the public's right to protest the wrong-doings of politicians and corporations alike. It is also VERY suspicious that this bill was brought to a vote without ANY major coverage from major (corporate owned) media outlets. Revoke Clear Channel's Radio LicensesThe current controversy over Rush Limbaugh's disgusting comments hides a much bigger problem; corporate control of the radio and TV airwaves. The airwaves that TV and radio stains use are the property of the American people. The FCC requires broadcasters to "serve the public interest". By allowing people like Rush Limbaugh to broadcast their hatred and lies Clear Channel is not serving the public interest. The best way to get them to operate in the public interest is for the FCC to pull their radio licenses.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeffrey Davis

Curb speculation in crude oil marketsAccording to the Energy Information Administration, the supply of oil and gasoline is greater today than it was three years ago. The demand for oil in the U.S. is at its lowest level since April of 1997. According to a report by Goldman Sachs, a major oil speculator, Forbes magazine said excessive oil speculation adds $.56 to the price of a gallon of gas. Exxon Mobil, the Saudi Arabian government, the American Trucking Association, Delta Airlines, the Petroleum Marketers Association of America and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis agree excessive oil speculation significantly increases oil and gasoline prices.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marge Yuenger

Reinstate and Enforce the Fairness DoctrineThe Fairness Doctrine calls for News media to provide different perspectives on news that is of public interest. The FCC decided to eliminate it in 1987 under Reagan. Re-instated and enforced, this doctrine would probably mean the end of "News Entertainment" as propaganda machines. Opponents of reinstatement will try to tell you that there is too much media to try and enforce it all now, but more media is really the best argument for the Fairness Doctrine to be re-instated, not shirked from. You have a right to expect news to be news; not a propaganda machine!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by A Hendrix
