I have been in the Auto Repair and Towing Business for 14 years and the unsafe conditions of most vehicles is appalling! We are 1 of 10 States in the US that does not implement Yearly Safety Inspections. Yearly Safety Inspections not only provides protection for our loved ones, it also boosts the economy. Most citizens of the state are tired of paying property tax over and over again on the same vehicle. With payment of an inspection fee and necessary repairs, the customer has something substantial they can see and touch.

I own a repair shop in Myrtle Beach, SC for 14 years. There are too many severely, unsafe vehicles on our roads. The automobile owners pay a meager Property Tax, therefore, they have no accountability for causing pollution or when an accident occurs due their unsafe vehicle.

On March 1st, due to Congress' refusal to act in the interest of the citizens, a series of automatic cuts took effect. These cuts threaten hundreds of thousands of jobs, vital children and senior citizen services, services for citizens with mental illnesses, and our armed forces. This disaster could be averted if all members of Congress truly work together on behalf of the people who sent them there.

Senseless entitlement cuts that are not immediately necessary. This stupid sequestration will severely damage our economy and destroy the lives of too many people in our country to include our school children just to appease hateful, greedy, seperatist that disrespects our President and our citizens with needs that matter.

The D.C. City Council has introduced a bill that would require all businesses, like Walmart, with 75,000 square feet of retail space or more and at least $1 billion in annual revenues to pay workers $12.50 an hour. Workers in D.C. deserve a living wage, and this bill is a big step in the right direction. By raising wages for workers in large retail workplaces like Walmart, this will impact thousands of D.C. families. Write to the D.C. Council now and urge them to support the Large Retailer Accountability Act of 2013.

My retired parents, my adult single daughter (mother of 3), & my unemployed friends, would all have to pay more money under Governor Snyder's plans to fund road repair through a higher gas tax.

this is about myself and alot of other people losing wages due to the sequester.

I have silently stood by and watch people on minimum wage go from sufficient income in the '70's slowly and continually shrink without any significant increase for the last 40+ years. Did inflation stop with it? No, and who has benefitted? The companies have and obviously need to be forced into paying employees what should have been theirs all along.

Indiana has a 8.6% unemployment rate and adding to that are people being released from prison and needing jobs. Republicans need to stop this craziness and tea-party extreme right mentally-ill behavior and reduce their own salaries to minimum wage public workers for 1 year and see how far they could live. People need jobs and to be paid a higher, at least, minimum wage of $9.00 per hour.

Our agency is currently going be cutting Border Patrol salary by about 40% if the budget does not go through. I believe this is going to be devastating for the majority of agents, who spent on average 10 hrs a day on the front-lines keeping the drugs and illegal aliens from entering the US. The cuts are going to be 10% furlough, 8-10 % falsa and 25% AUO (uncontrollable overtime pay or pretty much the same amount we get on a hly wage). I believe the morale is already at its lowest levels and with these cuts next month i think it will be at 0%; Causing a major influx of drugs and illegal entries. This will be felt by the surrounding states and eventually the entire US. It doesn’t really make the general news but we are capturing tons of illegal drugs and in the thousands of illegal aliens to the point where some of our station are unable to house them; Hence the reason why recent events led ICE detention center to release thousands of aliens. They are simple overwhelmed with what we are giving them on a daily basis. They have no beds and that’s the only reason for release nothing more. Someone needs to review our depart policy and stand behind us instead of against us guys in green. thanks
