• Missouri workers need more jobs, not fewer rights
Instead of focusing on putting Missourians back to work, some extremist lawmakers want to make Missouri a so-called "right to work" state. "Right to work" laws have nothing to do with rights or work. They are simply political attacks aimed at weakening unions. So-called "right to work" states have higher poverty, higher rates of workplace injuries and fatalities, fewer people with health insurance, and lower wages for ALL workers. Tell your Missouri legislator to focus on jobs, not attacks.

  • REMOVE ALL SALES TAXES FROM GROCERY & FOOD ITEMS
Oklahoma is one of a handful of states who tax food and grocery items. This taxation of essential life sustaining items like food is counter productive to the welfare of citizens and the economy of small business.

  • Legislative Salaries Reduced to Minimum Wage
Our elected representatives pass legislation that is supposed to reflect the needs and the good of the people. Instead, they continue to listen only to the moneyed. If their salaries were based on the minimum wage, they would have closer ties to the needs of those they speak for.

  • No more car tax ,except new vehicles !
We should not have to pay taxes every year on a vehicle that is personally owned. This year I was charged more in taxes than My car is worth.Taxes should be determined by value not weight.Older cars should be exempt as their taxes paid have been overridden by the value of the vehicle.

  • Raise the Minimum Wage
The California minimum wage has not been raised for five years and currently stands at $8.00/hour. We have the lowest minimum wage among the west coast states, with Washington at $9.11/hour and Oregon at $8.95/hour. The cost-of-living in California's biggest cities is unsustainable on an $8.00/hour full time work load. It is time that we joined Oregon and Washington by attaching our minimum wage to inflation, adjusted at the beginning of every fiscal year, and set at $10.00/hour beginning this upcoming fiscal year.

  • Better paying jobs for Rhode Island
The cost of living in Providence and cities around the country has sky rocketed. The minimum wage, adjusted for inflation has not increased since 1968. The middle class is what built this country and pays for the services the state offers. If the law makers and leaders of this state do not address this issue, future generations will lose funds for schools, public transportaion and other crucial public services.
