Gov. Dayton: No Additional Taxes on Veterinary ServicesSimply put, please do not add taxes onto MN. Veterinary services. Currently the average cost of veterinary is, many times, out of financial reach for many middle and lower income families. The burden then falls upon the family pet and it's health or wellbeing. Being able to afford spay or neuter results in less abandoned animals at pounds and shelters and consequently less deaths. Being able to afford vaccinations or surgeries or tests needed save lives. Veterinarian offices depend upon the public continuing to seek services in order to support staff and purchasing and paying off equipment that is also needed.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Madeco-Smith

Increase the Massachusetts Gas TaxGovernor Patrick has proposed a bold plan to make taxes more progressive and to raise money to pay for roads, bridges, mass transit and education. The legislature has taken his proposal under advisement and will probably pare it down. The gas tax has not been raised since 1991. It's time for drivers to pay their way.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Harry Margolis

Respect the Will of the Voters: Prosperity, not AusterityOn November 6, voters in 91 cities and towns across the Commonwealth voted in favor of the following non-binding public policy question by a 3 to 1 margin. The measure passed in every city and town in which it was on the ballot. The question called for our Congressional delegation to: 1. Prevent cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans benefits, or to housing, food and unemployment assistance; 2. Create and protect jobs by investing in manufacturing, schools, housing, renewable energy, transportation and other public services; 3. Provide new revenues for these purposes and to reduce the long-term federal deficit by closing corporate tax loopholes, ending offshore tax havens, and raising taxes on incomes over $250,000; and 4. Redirect military spending to these domestic needs by reducing the military budget, ending the war in Afghanistan and bringing U.S. troops home safely now. I urge you to promote only budgetary policies that are in accord with the principles embedded in the aforementioned ballot question.203 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Cole Harrison

Eliminate the unfair tax treatment of capital gainsThe vast majority of us make the vast majority of our income from wages paid for our labor, but our labor is considered somehow less worthy than the investment, risk, or speculation that results in capital gains. Under the recent "fiscal cliff" agreement, the capital gains rate went all the way up to 20% from the obscenely low rate of 15%, but this still strongly favors speculation over labor. It is time that all income be treated equally from a tax perspective. Income is income, after all.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Greg Slocum

Stop The City From Taking Your HomeHELP CHANGE THIS LAW!!! This is a serious issue. The law states that if you owe back property taxes for more than 2 years the third year the city you live in takes your home and kicks you out! No matter how much you owe wether it be a thousand dollars or a couple of thousand, if you can't come up with the money to pay it off your out in the street. How is this fair?? Especially when the value of your home is worth far more??? I heard of an elderly woman who couldn't pay her taxes and she lost her home! This law is totally unfair! There are other ways to punish people. What right does the city have to take your home and turn around and sell it??? They didn't pay for the home. The American Dream of owning your own home is a nightmare! worrying if you will have the money to pay your property taxes, worrying if your going to lose your home to the city. How is that a way to live????14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Caren DaMocogno

Single Women Over 50 - no deductions after kids leave the houseWe have no deductions to take on our taxes because our kids have moved out and started their lives. We have no breaks. It is an issue. It costs as much for electricity, water, rent, house payment, car payment, car insurance, home insurance, food, gas to get to work, as it does anyone. After no deductions to take in this economy with lesser paying jobs there needs to be a tax break. And needs to be a change in FAFSA on income guidelines.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Becky Coats

Tax Credit for parents helping their adult children not attending school and not making a fair wa...There should be a tax credit for parents who still are helping thier young adult children who are not attending school and do not make a wage to become indepentent in this economy. Corporations do not pay non-college person a fair wage. Not every person can attend school. People have things happen in their lives that they cannot afford or attend college. Like my daughter who at 20 became pregnant and discided to become a mother rather than abort her child. Why should they be on welfare and food stamps??? I beleive if there was a tax credit for parents of young adults who are helping with money for food , rent, clothing maybe these young adults can get off of welfare. I am a single 51 year old who has helped my daughter and grandson all year. I have also helped my son. These young adults are having a hard time finding their independace with this economy. As a parent what ever I can do to help them I will. But just did my taxes. I have no detuctions and have to pay NY state . My federal return is not good also.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Fran Brandt
