Stand Strong on the Fiscal CurveSenator Harkin, we urge you to stand up for us and make sure any fiscal deal ends the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% AND protects Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits from any cuts. This is what we voted for in November, and we expect you, our elected official, to vote the same way."18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maria Dickmann

Senator Alexander, Reject the Norquist PledgeThe upcoming "fiscal cliff" affects us all. It is only prudent that our elected representatives thoughtfully consider every option in order to do what is best.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Hamby

Ask Speaker Boehner to stop posturing. Please ask Speaker Boehner to stop posturing before further ruining the credit rating of our country. The majority of this great nation supports raising the tax rate on earnings over $250,000. Most understand that the rate stays where it is until they earn OVER the $250,000 mark and then a small increase kicks in. This is not a huge burden for them. It will be huge for me and millions of other people making way less than $50,000 per year if the tax cuts expire.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Citizen USA

END THE H-1B VISA PROGRAM NOW.I've been outsourced overseas by a corporation that does not care about quality, only about saving a few bucks on their next annual report. This has happened to many people I know and could happen to you next. Look up "H1B" on Wikipedia for much more background.39 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Rabin CPA

We Need More American JobsI have seen way to many jobs go over seas and we loose money and employees everytime a company chooses to close their American company and open it in places like China. If enough of us stand together we might just be able to get more jobs back in the United States.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Abbott

Reject Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledgeWe've recently heard from folks in Arizona who believe that Senator Jeff Flake needs to publicly reject Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge, which has created gridlock in Congress and prevents passing any responsible fiscal policy to grow the economy. Tell Senator Flake to send Norquist packing, ending his choke hold on legislation.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by allan rosen-ducat

Stop the Cuts Raise the RatesDick Durbin and Senate Democrats have the power to end th Bush taxes cuts for the top 2% while making our safety net stronger than it has ever been. They have the support of the people, polls and more importantly the election have shown this to be the case. Yet they seem willing to give into the demands of the heads of corporations and the richest among us. Tell them we will not stand for this. NYC Fast Food Workers StrikeLast week, I met Alvin Turner and Baxter Leach, two of the Memphis sanitation workers who went on strike with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, just before his assassination. They were fighting for the same things that we still are today: fair wages, safe workplaces, and a chance to raise their families with dignity. Forty-five years later, things haven't changed, and fast-food workers in New York City are taking up the call to action. Fast-food workers today are being paid poverty-level wages that barely cover a quarter of what we need to live, forcing many good workers to rely on food stamps and other public assistance. And it's not just the workers who are paying the price—our communities and local businesses are suffering, too. Enough is enough. This week, fast-food workers will rally in New York City's Harlem neighborhood to take a stand for our dignity as workers—and to help lift our entire economy. We're demanding $15 an hour and the right to form a union without intimidation. The Memphis strikers showed us that there is nothing to fear in standing up for what's right and ensuring we won't be ignored any longer. Join us in demanding better wages for fast-food workers, to cover their basic needs and lift up our entire economy. Remember, as Memphis striker Alvin Turner said: "In order to win, you have to stand up and be counted." The civil rights struggle isn't over, and we cannot allow a $200 billion industry to pay workers so little that they must rely on food stamps or live in homeless shelters. Together, we can put money in the hands of workers and lift our entire economy as we work to rebuild the American Dream. Join us to say we won't stand for inequity. Please sign this petition, and then pass it along to your friends. Thank you for standing with us! –Joseph Barrera, Kentucky Fried Chicken worker, Brooklyn33,159 of 35,000 SignaturesCreated by Joseph Barrera
