Promoting wind and solar energyThe oil industry has been subsidized by our federal government for the past 99 years. Yet there are those who would like to end production tax credits for wind and solar energy. Particularly in light of potentially disastrous climate change, these completely clean and endlessly renewable energy sources are what we should be subsidizing.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Roxanne Warren

Get styrofoam out of restaurants and other food serviceOur local single stream recycling program doesn't allow Styrofoam containers to be recycled. At public events, restaurants, even family gatherings I see so much of these products being thrown away. Tons of Styrofoam is being used as plates, cups and take out containers then put in landfills. Let's get foam out of food service. The food service industry now has paper and other compostable choices they could be using. Lets set some guidelines at a Federal level on what kinds of disposable products are being used. Styrofoam is a petroleum product. Using paper and recyclable materials is a green initiative that can help the United States be less petroleum dependent.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Laurie Rousseau

Idaho State University RecyclingUniversities across the country have taken leadership in educating about and promoting sustainablity, but ISU is behind in this important issue. Many ISU students, faculty, and staff carry empty soda cans or stacks of paper around until we find one of the few recycling containers on campus. Others do not bother. As members of the ISU community, we want clearly marked recycling containers available all over campus as part of a university commitment to sustainability.257 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Seaich

Plant organic fruit trees in highway rest areas, picnic areas, state parks and federal parks for h...Our God given right is to breath clean air, drink clean water and to be able to pick fruit that has not been tainted by pesticides or lined with no trespassing signs. Some politicians say there is a liability issue, but the biggest liability is in not doing it, for everything we do caries a risk of liability in this world and we as human beings must take responsibility for our actions. Another issue that came up was stains, but stains can make great stories and fruit stains are the basis of curing skin cancer. Bees and insects was another issue, We have coexisted with insects since our beginnings and we need them to survive. When people become locked in a concrete/steel aseptic fairytale world as apposed to an aesthetic world we have serious problems and the movie Avatar did not teach us anything.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David L Molinari

Support Ohioans for Obama who are Against FrackingObama is courting Ohio, and generally is a lot more in touch with voters than Mitt Romney is. But on ENERGY, he's out of touch. There are lots of renewable forms of energy to fund, subsidize, encourage, reward, and cheerlead for. (And there are thousands of jobs that are needed, to increase these, especially jobs doing groundpump-heat well-drilling.) There is NO SUCH THING as clean coal, safe nuclear, or nonpolluting gas-fracking.112 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Anonymous Ohioan

Let us use LSV 's in town limits.Low Speed Vehicles can only be used on 35 MPH or less roads. If all the town roads that are 40 MPH , there are very few, were changed to 35MPH we would be able to shop locally and do all our town errands using a G,E.M. electric car. Nation wide we would save a lot of gasoline . I would be able to save hundreds of dollars every month and get rid of one car .2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Roger Shanafelt

Label ItI would like the food industries to be required to inform the public of the use of genetically manipulated organisms (GMO's) in all our foods. This would be accomplished by labeling all foods and food products for the inclusion of any and all GMO products8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Pennington

Stop KeystoneThis is the most significant way to curtail global warming and increased asthma and rare cancers spreading from the source. With 35 spills since TarSands started using pipelines the record insures massive harms to the U.S. The key scientists studying global warming tell us it means game over to control it.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Wilson

Reduce Noise Pollution in the Flatbush Junction AreaThere is far too much noise from unnecessary honking in the Flatbush-Junction area. Much of this noise can be attributed to Dollar vans and taxis honking to attract customers, as well as impatient drivers and poor traffic patterns.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Claudia

Revoke Exxon Mobil's License to PolluteThe Illinois Supreme Court determined earlier this year that Citizens Opposing Pollution cannot enforce the Illinois Surface Mining Reclamation and Conservation Act such that Exxon has been allowed to poison the Pearl Sand Aquifer in Clinton County, Illinois with 422 acres of permanently impounded coal production waste slurry that is constantly leeching hazardous constituents into the groundwater which can no longer be used as drinking water by the local residents and farmers. Secretary of Interior, Kenneth Salazar, has the power to enforce the identical federal law and force Exxon Mobil Coal USA to remove and properly dispose of their hazardous coal production waste. We are calling on Secretary Salazar to enforce the federal law so that Exxon cannot continue to poison the Pearl Sand Aquifer.384 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Penni Livingston

Michigan needs more clean energyAn opportunity like this doesn’t come along often. On Election Day, voters will have a chance to take a huge step in the shift from dirty energy to clean, renewable energy. Proposition 3 would require utilities to get 25% of Michigan’s electricity from renewable sources, like wind and solar, by 2025. Passing Prop 3 would dramatically reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants, which is a leading cause of asthma attacks and lung disease. Overcoming the influence of our coal-burning utilities to get our state to 25% renewable energy by 2025 isn’t going to be easy. At this point, I’m sure you’ve seen their misleading TV ads and mailings. It’s gotten so bad that Consumers Energy actually stuffed their utility bills with a flyer urging customers to vote no on Prop 3. The stakes are too high to let them get away with this. Can I count on you to vote YES on Prop 3?32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Virginia Shannon
