Term Limits for Supreme CourtThe notion of any position in government running for life is an idea which should have died with rule by monarchy. It invites a tyranny of the few affecting all. While an independent Court is best for all, a wholly unaccountable Court serves no one.38 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Randy Handley

Paul LePage: Apologize for slandering public emloyeesAt a town hall meeting in Newport last Thursday, Governor Paul LePage accused Maine state employees of being “about as corrupt as you can be.” I agree with Republican State Legislators Roger Katz and Patrick Flood and others who have called on Gov. LePage to apologize. Public workers do important work for all Maine people. For Gov. LePage to call them "corrupt" is baseless and insulting to every public worker who has dedicated their lives to making Maine a great place to live, work, and raise a family.86 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tom Foreman

Congress: Stop Wasting Our Money! While the Congress passes no bills, saves no money and talks about tax cuts in programs that help American citizens, they are doing NOTHING to cut waste, fraud, and mismanagement in government agencies. In many cases, they are protecting their power base. In many cases, they form oversight committees who have no real power to enforce the rules they are supposed to oversee. THIS HAS TO STOP!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Helen Riggs

Stop the absurdAfter seeing a news story today about law makers who lease very expensive automobiles at tax payer expence, I believe we need to be heard. I believe that they should leases out of their bloated salaries. I also believe they should have medicare as their health insurance. It should be set up with the same quide lines as our medicare.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Loreta Stewart

Single item legislationCongress passes bills that have so many riders and add ons that congressman and women don't even read them. Even if they like the main law they may vote against it because of something that has been added on.If they voted on one thing at time voters will know how they REALLY stand on issues.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven E Steiner

TERM LIMITSThe problem with our political system is that the elected officials view it as a life-time endeavor. Party affiliation does not matter, both parties take advantage of the taxpaying public. Term Limits would prevent not only their attitude toward voters but since they would know they would rejoin the public, their voting record would be more directed to taxpayers. This should affect pensions, their paying taxes including Social Security as well.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by R L Smith

Truly Public Service Salary and Benefits AmendmentIn order for our elected officials to truly understand what it's like to be a member of the working poor we propose that ALL elected officials receive minimum wage and pay for their own medical benefits and retirement plans like the rest of normal, hard-working Americans. This amendment to the constitution will save the government money by reducing the cost of government salaries to the most fairly administered wage standard available: the minimum wage.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Merginio

Abolish the Electoral CollegeThe EC was created by our founding fathers to represent those who did not live and/or could not travel to Washington DC where they could hear live speaches from candidates. This was over 200 years ago when there was NO MEDIA! Now media is within everyone's handheld device, desktop, laptop, Television, magazines and newspapers. The Electoral College served it's purpose in the 17 and 1800's but the popular vote is all we want!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Reeb

End retirement benefits for Congress and the White HouseRetired presidents, vice presidents, and congressmen receive outlandish pensions, in addition to lavish health insurance for life. They really don't need this or deserve this. With all the focus on reducing the deficit, cutting out this perk would be a step ($$) in the right direction. Let these retirees live like the majority of retiree taxpayers, myself included.59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Abraham
