• Get Special Interest Money out of Campaigns
What would the effects be if we had a campaign finance situation like this? Every elected official is legally required to actually say, " I can't take your money, if you are not a voter in my district." This would eliminate lobbyists' bribes and non-constituent influences.

  • NO GIFTS FROM LOBBYISTS
Let lobbyists sell their programs without any gifts/money for our lawmakers. Allowing lobbyists to legally do this has corrupted our Republic/Government. The way it works now is that money/gifts win over what their constituents needs are.

  • Unite for democratic elections
A democratic government is a reflection of the collective public will. In the US, one of the main factors keeping us from this ideal is the untoward influence of corporations and other non-citizen entities. We don't have to wait for our government to pass campaign finance reform- we can wield our collective power in this presidential election in 2012. Sign and share to take back our democracy.

  • STOP the Wars
Going to WAR, being at WAR, should be painful for OUR entire country! FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! Take the power back from the President to start wars & put it again with Congress & THE PEOPLE! USE the 'Abrams doctrine' which made it harder for this country to go to war. This has been ignored beginning with Ronald Reagan!!!

  • Change The House of Representatives Size
The Constitution of the United States, Article 1 section 2, defines the composition of the House of Representatives. It states that the number of Representatives shall not EXCEED one for every thirty thousand people in each state with at least 1 representative from each state. There is no Maximum number of people that each representative shall be able to represent. In fact, that number has increased over the years as our population grew.

  • Saving the Homeowner
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should decrease the capital amount owed by under water home owners. Doing this could keep roughly 500,000 home owners from losing their residence and uprooting their families. Ed Demarco, head of Federal Housing Authority, should change his position and keep these houses from hitting foreclosure or short sale status.

  • Impeach the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is composed of a majority of right wing Bush appointees. For the most part, their rulings have reflected the opinions of this majority. They are appointed for life and this perpetuates the problem. We need to amend the structure of the Court to reflect the interests of the majority and not the 1%. Impeach the entire Court and elect judges for a rotating periods not to exceed eight years. The judges should have two weeks to campaign (not accepting funding other than from the Federal Government). All candidates should received equal funding. The elections should coincide with Presidential elections.

  • Stop the Republican hypocrisy regarding judicial nominees
The Republican Party should stop playing partisan politics by stopping their record setting and mesmerizing hypocritical obstruction to President Obama's judicial nominees, especially since the Federal bench has become top heavy with far right-wing ideologues that overtly promote a political agenda that protects corporations and squashes the disenfranchised.

  • Shared Sacrifice to Fix Washington
Our representatives have lost sight on the people they represent and are more focused on their ability to profit from their time in Washington. Politicians should be made responisible and share in the sacrifices that the rest of us have been forced, by their decisions, to endure.

  • Keep Our Postal Service Great
The last couple of years have had a great number of buzzards circling the Postal Service, trying to pick it apart and completely obliterate it. They are doing this for one reason and one reason only. That is so they can claim it for themselves and rip off the American public. Congress, under the Bush administration caused the Postal Service great problems by enacting a law requiring it to prefund future retiree health benefits through the year 2075 and doing it all within a 10 year period. That means that the Postal Service has to put 5.5 Billion dollars into the Treasury on Sept. 1 every year. It starts its fiscal year $5-1/2billion in the red or $55Billion by 2916, That is absurd and no other company or agency in America is mandated to do anything even close to that. The Postal Service has also overpaid into the Civil Service and Federal Employee Health funds over the past 40+ years due to an accounting error to the tune of around $75billion. This has absolutely been documented by the GAO and the OIG. Congress can fix the Postal Service by suspending the future payments and returning at least a portion of the money it is owed. Nothing else needs to be done, except maybe to get rid of about 60% of the management staff which is way overbloated with friends and relatives of higher ups. Congress needs to know America wants the same, only better, Postal Service it has come to expect for the last thousand years. SAVE AMERICA'S POSTAL SERVICE. Thank you.
