Time Magazine recently ran an article 'why medical bills are killing us' and included the story of the Recchi's who MD Anderson charged over 83,000 for cancer treatment MD Anderson is supposed to be a non profit but made a 26 percent profit last year and the head of MD Anderson made more than 2 million dollars last year. I think they should reimburse the Recchi's 26% of the 83,000 and apologize to them for not giving them assistance or treating them with compassion at the time they most needed it. I do not know the Recchi's but I was absolutely furious when I read this. this type of rip off by the medical community has got to stop.

Steve Brill's 27,000 word March 4, 2013 special report opens the lid to overcharging "non-profit" hospitals, price-gouging drug and medical supply companies, insurance companies built on secret 'chargemasters' which uncomprehendingly determines outrageous/grossly-inflated health care costs driving even upper middle class families into bankruptcy. Doctor pay is narrowly mentioned but equally at fault.

Health care should be available to everyone, regardless of economic status. People who cannot afford health insurance should not have to shoulder another financial burden.

Yes in the southern USA HIV/AIDS services are not getting funded enough to cover the new wave of HIV concentration. I myself get turned down for services in GEORGIA even though I've survived 30 yrs.' with HIV. Lets balance the funding by giving more to help with the deep south areas. Gov. Cuomo's budget proposal contains $120 million in cuts to services for people with developmental disabilities operated by non-profit service providers in NY state and $120 million more in cuts to the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. To balance the state's coffers on the backs of our most vulnerable citizens is a moral outrage that could end up denying these innocent people vital services. We never want to see a return to the days of the institutional hell-holes. Please help us stop these cuts!

Baltimore county switch my insurance involuntarily from Care first to Cigna . As result I pay more out of pocket and my premium is tripled with less coverage
