More than 132,000 Arizona children are uninsured due to the freeze of KidsCare in 2010. Arizona is the only state in the country that has not lifted the freeze on the Children's Health Insurance Program.

People at 55 years of age are considered Seniors. Many venues award them discounted prices starting at that age. Health Care awards no such discounts, in fact the closer a person gets to the age of 65 the higher the Healthcare cost. For example an individual health care plan at Kaiser costs $560 per month. Close the gap from 55 to 65.

It should be a mandate that whatever the Governing bodies of the USA deem a suitable health care plan for its citizens...all members of Congress, Senate, President, cabinet members etc. should also participate . NO exceptions.

On Monday, April 16, 2012, the contract between Anthem and Connecticut Children's Medical Center expired. Because contract negotiations have broken down between the two entities over the costs of services at CCMC, it appears that it may not be renewed. This affects many families in Connecticut in a very real and personal way. Consider the thousands of underprivileged children with Husky/Anthem healthcare through the State, who receive regular, preventive medical care at CCMC's Charter Oak Clinic. Consider the number of chronically ill children who require specialized care that their pediatricians cannot provide. While these two Goliaths duke it out over money, it is the young patients and their families who will pay the price.

Autism is kidnapping one in 88 children in the United States. When my child got diagnosed, in 1998, that figure was 1 in 500. Some years ago, the CDC put the number as 1 in 150. Gov. Christie cut all state funding for health care as of March 2010 in NJ and only left what was funded by the Federal government, which means now only children are covered by NJ Family Care, no more parents. The only exception to this is people who are disabled or over 65. So many people are out of work in NJ and have no more health insurance from their jobs and cannot afford to buy private health insurance. I was told that the adults currently on NJ Family Care will be denied coverage when the time comes for them to renew.
