Release Leslie Merritt Jr. from Jail! This petition is about the unjust incarceration of this young man, ripped from his little ones just to justify and satisfy our Governor after receiving heavy criticism for not having caught the I-10 shooter over the summer. Shootings have continued and the "evidence" has been changed so many times that nothing adds up, except Merritt's alibi's, which his lawyers are using to fight for his release as well! **** I have been following this story ever since it started. I am a mother, a wife and creator of http://fightbackandwin.com. I believe in fighting for your rights and helping those who cannot. Justice is not always fair and almost never affordable. We have reached out to all news media locally and some national news agencies as well, in an attempt to get contact info. Myself along with a few others, some even out of the country, have rallied on social media ever since the beginning to try and get Leslie a fair bail as it was obvious to us that this was clearly a huge act of injustice! Our social media page for support for Leslie is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/428023417400072/?ref=bookmarks Please feel free to contact via his Facebook support page or through this platform. Thank you for any act of kindness and empathy as we try to gain support for Leslie so he can be with his family during the holidays!119 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Christine Davis

Call for Mandatory Psychological Evaluation/Treatment for White CopsThis petition is to underscore the obvious need for white police officers to undergo psychiatric and psychological evaluation and treatment for their unreasonable phobias about Black men, (women), and children. The past four years especially there have been incidents where there was no basis for fear. I am an African American female and am tired of watching the murders by white law enforcers and hearing their same lame justification for murder.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deborah

It's time for repeal of the death penalty in Delaware! No more stalling!Earlier this year, Delaware’s Senate voted to repeal the death penalty, but the bill has been stuck in the house Judiciary Committee since May, and several legislators have refused to allow the bill to go to the House floor for a vote. An issue as serious as the death penalty deserves an up or down vote in front of the full House! Here are a few reasons why Delaware’s death penalty is fatally flawed: -->In Delaware, Black defendants who kill White victims are seven times as likely to receive the death penalty as Black defendants who kill Black victims. -->155 men and women have been released from death rows across the country after evidence of their wrongful convictions emerged. Delaware remains at risk of executing an innocent person. -->Study after study shows that the death penalty costs far more than sentencing individuals to life in prison without parole. -->The death penalty traps victims’ families in a decades-long cycle of uncertainty, court hearings, and waiting. In contrast, a sentence of life in prison without parole is a severe punishment that begins immediately and avoids the delays and media circus that come with a death sentence--allowing victims’ families to move on rather than forcing them to endure years of waiting for an execution that may never come.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by DE Repeal

STOP juvenile life sentences for non-murder offensesMy son was given a 25-year to Life enhancement on a 6-year sentence for a total of 31 years to Life at the age of 18 for assault with a firearm with no fatalities. The all-seeing eyeI am demanding that the Houston police department and all police across the nation are required to wear body cameras to stop this modern day genocide of our Black men and all other people who have been senselessly killed by law enforcement. It's time to take a stand against ALL crime. But most importantly, it's time to take a stand together on decriminalizing or neighborhood and protecting the inhabitants from ALL criminals, including the police.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Thompson

Support NYS Bill A2470 for Geriatric ParoleDue to the low rates of recidivism for older adults, as compared to younger groups of paroled individuals, we support the establishment of a program to consider the release of geriatric inmates who do not pose a public safety risk. Currently, Bill A2470, which would support such a program, is sitting at committee at the NYS Assembly and we wish to vocalize our support to our local Assembly persons and State Senators for signing such a bill into law.78 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Brooks
