It is a food service industry norm that employees (fast food, restaurants, or cafeterias) receive a daily meal for each shift worked. For many years now UCSD Health Nutrition Services Employees have been denied a daily meal allowance (which is $5/day) in the CX Unit (cashiers, call center and other department administrative employees). Other UC food services workers receive a daily food allowance for each shift worked. UC wanted to trade this daily allowance for a reduction in the hourly wage for UC CX unit represented workers many years ago. Teamsters Local 2010 members (cashiers and other food services administrative employees) want fairness with their coworker that receive the daily meal allowance. It is time to give back the daily meal allowance to all Teamster represented employees in Nutrition Services so they can also enjoy the products delivered or produced by their Teamsters sisters and brothers. In the United States alone, approximately 50 billion animals including fish and other sea animals are killed annually to be eaten (approximately 100,000 every minute). Animals who are killed for their flesh endure intense psychological and physical trauma, and undercover investigations have found that they are routinely eviscerated while still conscious. Over 75% of Americans believe animals should be protected from "all suffering and harm." One in 3 believes animals should have "the same rights as people." It's time for progressive politicians to live up to their reputation for justice and stop the most violent industry on the planet!

Young adults have grown up in a society and been brain-washed to achieve the "unattainable " perfection.

Our son was struck and killed by a car on June 2, 2014 while crossing the street on Lorraine & Hicks to get the city bus to get to school early for extra tutoring for an upcoming test. I have to cross that street every day and do see cars speeding, as well as being reckless. Since the city does not want to put up a stop light, I hope that a 4 way stop sign will slow these cars down, and another family doesn't lose a love one. Please help me get the stop signs put in place

We need to get this initiative on the ballot and for that we need not only signatures, but the support of our local officials. Too many people are working and because of the low wages are still unable to live the life they want. We shouldn't have to make the choice to pay our light bill OR pay our phone bill. We need a raise.

Donald Trump considers media personality, Joe Scarborough, a “supporter” and even thanked Scarborough on the air saying, “You guys have been supporters, and I really appreciate it." As the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough uses one of MSNBC’s most watched programs to support, promote, and even defend Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric. Just last month, Joe Scarborough admitted to meeting personally with Trump in order to provide him with debate tips. As if that wasn’t enough, Mediaite has reported on how Trump has called Joe Scarborough a “believer” of his campaign and has even asked Scarborough for questions that were not “too hard.” These are just some of the examples that illustrate that Joe Scarborough is not unbiased when it comes to Republican candidate Donald Trump. Donald Trump has become the frontrunner in the Republican Party because friendly “journalists,” like Joe Scarborough, use Trump’s celebrity status to boost their ratings. Instead of asking Trump tough questions about his racist and xenophobic rhetoric, pundits like Joe Scarborough keep Trump happy so he keeps coming back. And while you might expect this “ratings over credibility” mentality on morning Television, the Washington Post recently announced that Joe Scarborough will serve as a regular contributor to their 2016 election commentary and opinion section. This is great for Donald Trump but horrible for anyone who cares about keeping Trump out of the mainstream. It is shameful and irresponsible for The Washington Post to allow Joe Scarborough, a pundit who has set journalistic integrity aside in order to support Donald Trump, to comment on one of our country’s most important elections. The Washington Post should provide its readers with unbiased and thought-provoking coverage of the presidential election, and not give Joe Scarborough yet another platform to defend and justify Trump’s toxic and dangerous rhetoric.

I'm tired of watching my FICO (credit) score go down, just because some one looked at it!!

With his steady stream of divisive rhetoric Ivanka Trump has steadfastly stood by her father's side. Ms. Trump proudly tells audiences her father would make a great president. Consequently, though she has consistently said she doesn't want to get involved in politics, she has put herself front and center of her father's campaign. By extension her name sake company becomes a strong supporter of Trump for President. Nordstrom, by selling her product line, is also now a supporter. Unless they remove her products from their stores, we, as consumers also have power. For those of us who find Trump's alienating talk alarming, we should stop shopping at all Nordstrom stores and from their online site unless they remove the Ivanka Trump Lifestyle Product line from all their stores.

Stepping inside this glorious building you feel an instant emotional connection--a connection that should be shared with the good people of Disney and the world. Think of the social stairs and the glorious choreography that could unfold on them. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES. It is about time that the University of Nevada start breakin' free and be appreciated in all of its glory. And it's about time that we were all featured in the background scenes of a Disney Original Movie. But it all starts with you signing this petition. You just gotta get ya head in the game.
