We are losing the battle against private interests as they take over our schools, public transportation systems, parking meters, and just about anything else that private political donors can get their hands on. The truth is, charter schools do not out-perform public schools, the parking meters are a disaster, and the latest--CTA cancels bus routes even as it hands over half a BILLION dollars to some private entity to supposedly make collections faster. Nobody was complaining about the old system. Enough is enough. This has to stop. Services to citizens are being drastically cut back to make room for greedy corporations who make political donations. Please send a message to our city leaders. Tell them we will not stand for this outrageous practice any longer!

This petition is to stop the "state budget cut" to close the doors on the only aftercare programs in our county. We recieved a letter stating that as of June 30th the doors would be closed. HOW are people suppose to work? Many people rely on that aftercare program, because they work in different towns and do not get off of work in time to pick their children up from school. So many parents will be unemployed or kids will be going wild, not having the guidance that they need. Myself as well as countless other parents have no clue what we will do as far as working, if this actually happens - This is one budget cut that should be reconsidered. Think about all the lives that is going to be affected.

On March 26th, the Georgetown City Council will vote on whether to allow a local family to convert an old, aged transmission shop into a unique and beautiful event space that will draw visitors into our lovely Downtown, to enjoy our local businesses and sites.

The burying of the horse racing internet bill is a crime in mass proportion. Unlike gambling in casinos the horse players takes an interest in the breeding, running and maintenance of these fine animals.

With increasing secrecy by drug and chemical companies like Monsanto and Bayer by not disclosing whats in their products and in fact spending millions of dollars to keep it a secret. Now is the time to give consumers freedom and choice, by requiring the labeling of foods that contain GMO(genetically engineered organisms).

Let's get together state by state and demand GMOs out of our food supply!

Require all GMO ingredients to be clearly labelled on any retail food product manufactured, produced, grown, or sold in the state of Missouri.

New York's minimum wage has risen only 10 cents since 2007, and today remains decades out of date. If the state's minimum wage had simply kept pace with the rising cost of living since 1970, it would equal more than $10.70 per hour today. Instead, the current minimum wage remains stuck at $7.25 per hour, which translates to just $15,080 per year for a full-time worker. Governor Cuomo called for raising New York's minimum wage during his 2013 State of the State address. Now the legislature must deliver. The Independent Democratic Caucus must use its leadership power in the New York Senate to support legislation that raises New York's minimum wage to at least $9 per hour and indexes the minimum wage to automatically rise with the cost of living each year.

Ban all raw log exports from both private and public lands. And yes I have been affected and so has all Oregonians

Under the new regulations, NMFS/NOAA would be able to grant permits for ocean aquaculture in the Gulf of Mexico. There are numerous problems with ocean aquaculture that will have direct negative impacts on Louisiana and its residents. Offshore aquaculture can jeopardize the health and wellbeing of wild fish through spread ing disease and pollution, which in turn hurts our already struggling fishing industry. In addition, offshore aquaculture facilities will compete for space historically used for both commercial and recreational fishing, among other uses. For the protection of the Gulf and preservation of Louisiana's fishing industry, we urge you to prevent offshore aquaculture in the Gulf of Mexico.
