• Starbucks: Provide Baristas With Paid Sick Leave
According to the New York Times, America is in the grip of three emerging flu or flulike epidemics, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. Many office workers are encouraged to stay home if they're feeling ill, in the hopes of containing the outbreak. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for America's restaurant and fastfood chains. Starbucks baristas serve millions of customers every day, but most lack paid sick leave and many report going to work when they're feeling ill. Companies like Starbucks have a responsibility to their employees and their customers to help prevent the spread of illness. Join us in demanding that Starbucks take the lead and provide all of their workers with a fair amount of paid sick leave.

  • A NATIONAL PROGRAM TO PROTECT SCHOOLS
An initiative to install gunshot sensors around public schools would take them off the list of easy targets for criminals and provide instant police notification in future crises, all without intimidating our children, arming our teachers, or infringing anyone's protected rights.

  • Representative Gingrey: Resign from Congress
Just days ago, Representative Phil Gingrey (R-GA), an OB/GYN, defended the false and disgusting "legitimate rape" remarks made by his former colleague, Todd Akin. Because he is not only a Congressman, but also an OB/GYN, Phil Gingrey must resign from his seat because of his disgraceful, false, and offensive remarks. • Amend the Colorado Right to Ranch Statute
A number of big ranches sold out to developers in the 1980s. Developers, in order to keep a rural lifestyle in mind, developed sites of 35 or more acres in these subdivisions. Many have covenants requiring landowners to fence in their livestock (cattle) in order to protect the property rights of other landowners. However, these have failed because some unscrupulous ranchers and out-of-state investors who want illegal agricultural tax status have allowed cattle to roam freely in these subdivisions, causing thousands in property and overgrazing damage and pollution to the water table which supplies well water to those of us actually living on the land. Most of us in these subdivisions are retirees on a fixed income living off the grid and trying to live a peaceful, sustainable livestyle. That is being destroyed due to these people misusing the Colorado Right-To-Ranch law.

  • America Needs Gun Regulation (ANGR)
It is time to mobilize against the unreasonable influence of the NRA. With only 4.3 million members, the NRA should not be the only voice that Congress hears in any discussion about gun regulation. There are many millions of citizens who need to be heard in favor of strong gun regulation and reform. Here's the place to speak out.
