As my title indicates, I would like the voters to be protected against outright lies in campaign statements and advertising.

Rush Limbaugh is detrimental to a civil society that should work toward solutions, not tear apart the United States.

Although it is not the spirit of the law, the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act has a clause in it that is used to protect the rights of convicted sex offenders and abusive coaches rather than the safety of child athletes. The Act requires that a national governing body "demonstrates that its membership is open to any individual who is an amateur athlete, coach, trainer, manager, administrator, or official active in the sport for which recognition is sought..." National governing bodies, such as USA Gymnastics, believe that this clause prevents them from excluding convicted sex offenders and abusive coaches on their permanently ineligible list ("banned coaches") from sending child athletes to their sanctioned events. Coaching ethics should be made explicit: Coaches do not exploit athletes or other participants over whom they have supervisory, evaluative or other authority; coaches do not engage in sexual/romantic relationships with athletes or other participants over whom the coach has evaluative, direct or indirect authority, because such relationships are likely to impair judgment or be exploitative. In addition, a mandatory reporting clause should be added, which would require all adults working with children under the umbrella of a national governing body to report concerns of child abuse and neglect.

Rush Limbaugh lied about Georgetown University Law student Sandra Fluke's advocacy for women needing birthcontrol for various health issues and called her a "slut" and prostitute saying Fluke should be required to post a sex tape online if someone else paid for her birth control. This type of simple minded filth should not be allowed to continue on the air

State Employees have worked diligently for the State of South Carolina over the years. As many approach retirement, the legislature is now thinking of revamping the retirement plan and this is just wrong. Set new rules in place for new employees and grandfather the current employees.

Rush Limbaugh's verbal assault on Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke, calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute," was intended to do one thing: intimidate women who would dare to speak out for their reproductive freedom. But this time Limbaugh has gone too far, and it has sparked a nationwide backlash. At least 140 major advertisers have pulled their ads from the Limbaugh show, and some stations have canceled the show altogether. Rush is still on the air in Hickory—but if enough local folks speak out together, that could change. We can't let up now. Together we can convince WHKY 1290 in Hickory to take Limbaugh off the air for good.

Rush Limbaugh's show should be removed from the local radio station KUJ. He has verbally assaulted and intimidated women who stand up for their health and reproductive rights.

My petition is an act against the vitiolic and hateful messages that Rush Limbaugh frequently states while on the air. While freedom of speech is very important to me, there is also no place in the political discourse for such venomnous words. His messages filled with fury and rants contribute nothing to discourse and at their very worst, are hurtful, hate-filled, and vile. Now for a disclaimer, I am not a member of the Deomcratic Party, nor am I registered as a Republican, but as a student who is very well atuned to our political process and as one who participates heavily in the discoure, this type of speech only makes the process appear more callous and at the very worst, can turn people away from participation. I implore you on the behalf of desency and respect to those of all political beliefs and opinions, to remove Rush Limbaugh's incorrigable statements from our airwaves. The words he has spoken against the likes of Sandra Fluke and serval others who are in disagreement, are both highly inappropriate and incredibly unacceptable to be a part of this necessary discource.

Ask WTAW (Bryan Broadcasting) to move Rush Limbaugh to a late night time slot. His rhetoric is poisonous to our community. His attack of Sandra Fluke, calling her a prostitute, slut, and asking her to make a sex tape because she spoke to Congress about womens reproductive rights is a clear example of this toxic speech. Signing this petition will let WTAW know that we recognize that the Rush Limbaugh show is not appropriate for all listeners and should be moved to a more adult-oriented hour. This would be in the best public interest.

Student Loan should be eliminated. The ones that has been at least ten years due to economic condition. It's very hard life right now and the last thing we worry about is paying back our student loan.
