Compassion for hungry children should not be penalized; it should be praised. While Ms. Curry acknowledges that her actions were against school policy, I sincerely feel that the policy needs to be changed to allow students in need the basic human right to not go hungry. A hungry child cannot focus on their studies and causes them to sway away from being attentive in class. Tell the Cherry Creek School District to reinstate Della Curry and change their policy so no school children go hungry.

Orcas and dolphins suffer in captivity. They are sentient, highly intelligent marine mammals that live in family groups, and do not belong living in a chlorine-laden, confined tank their entire lives. SeaWorld claims they love their orcas and dolphins, but 44 orcas have died at SeaWorld. They currently confine 23 orcas in their facilities, and these orcas have been separated from their mothers. In the wild, orcas seldom leave their mother's side, even when fully grown. SeaWorld blatantly lies in it's newest TV ads, claiming that their orcas live the same lifespan as they do in the wild, but over 90% of their orcas have not survived beyond 25 years! In the wild, a female orca can live up to 80 to 90 years. All SeaWorld cares about are their profits - if they truly cared about the orcas and dolphins, they would NOT keep them in captivity in the first place! SeaWorld should NOT be granted a permit to build a larger tank - they need to stop imprisoning orcas, and dolphins!

As a long time educator, I realize how important having CERTIFIED teachers is for all students. Our children are our most important asset and you are NOT honoring this fact by proposing having anyone with any kind of degree teach in the public school. Stand up for YOUR constituents, not your party.

Wisconsin wants to continue excellence in education rather than have the lowest teacher standards in the country. My children are just starting school in Rhinelander (first grade and 4k for next year). Please help make sure all kids will be taught by trained teachers so they can receive the best education.

The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf has projected a huge $800,000 deficit for the coming school year. Yet, despite repeated requests by families, outside agencies and the Union, PSD refuses to share relevant financial information about its budget and spending for the current and upcoming school years. Instead, the school has established a secret committee, which generated a list of programs and staff to be cut, ostensibly to address the yet-to-be-substantiated deficit. All of the staff threatened with layoffs provide direct services to children which are legally mandated in IEPs; are fluent in ASL; and have strong ties to PSD students, families and the Deaf community. PSD has not provided any concrete plans or answers to parents or staff about how children will continue to receive quality services, or how PSD will remain a financially viable and stable learning environment. It has also become evident that the PSD Board does not intend to honor the commitment made to respect and bargain with the new union in good faith. During negotiations PSD has ignored legally mandated bargaining with the union and made changes to staff working conditions, policies, and compensation. Parents, too, have been rebuffed and shut out of meetings, conversations, and decisions that will impact our children. The Board has consistently undermined communications, transparency, and the ability of staff to partner effectively with parents and administration to provide the best possible education and supports for our students. It is well past the time for transparency and good faith. Stop denying your stakeholders the opportunity to have input into the decision making for the future of PSD.

They pass between the state's upper and lower peninsulas along the bottom of the Straits of Mackinaw. Oil and water don't mix and if it were to rupture it would spill oil across the Great Lakes. We are starting this position to try to influence the Mayor and Oakland City Council to stop advancing a nativist agenda under the false pretense that it's fire risk mitigation. We deserve real fire risk mitigation, not something that claims to be what it isn't and will actually increase fire risk.

To keep motor vehicles in their lanes until passing the farm area. This would reduce the temptation to increase speed and pass slower vehicles in an area where vehicles frequently enter and exit. Thus it would increase the safety of people and possibly animals that live there. No passing zones are created for work and construction areas to keep people safe why not those of us who work on farms

I am tired of letting big money campaign contributors narrow the field to 1 or 2 candidates before I even get a chance to vote! And my representatives care more about those big contributors than they do about us taxpayers. I want your help to change it and let the politicians know the current system is broken. Here's how RANK THE VOTE would work: When you vote, simply rank all the candidates you support in order of your liking. If you like the integrity and ideas of a candidate who “doesn’t have a chance!” because he doesn’t have big money support, you can cast your 1st choice for that great candidate, without "throwing away your vote." If that candidate does not get enough votes to stay in the running, your next choice gets your vote. So, for example, I may not like the big money candidate of my party, but I don't want to throw away my vote on a candidate without the support to win the general election. With a ranking system, my vote will be moved to my 2nd choice as soon as my 1st choice (the one who would really represent my views) is eliminated. Votes are counted by a process of repeated recalculation: each time the lowest vote-getter is removed and those votes are reassigned to their next highest choice – until a single winner is decided. Ranking eliminates primary elections, saving taxpayers millions. And it's the primaries where good candidates without a lot of money get eliminated. Most voters don't even vote in the primaries, so the candidates that truly care about constituents are eliminated before most of us cast our ballots. If we don’t demand change we will have more of the same – a government that listens only to campaign contributors – not taxpayers like you and me.
