• Recall Sam Brownback
The shining economic experiment that Brownback sold the citizens of Kansas has failed miserably, but he refuses to admit it. His real goal is to dismantle the government as we know it, and to that end he has gutted the state treasury, public schools, hospitals and other public services and institutions. Kansans overwhelmingly want good schools, good roads, and a government that is fiscally healthy and takes care of its obligations to all its citizens. While this is NOT an official recall petition (which cannot be collected electronically), it IS a way for citizens of Kansas to declare that Governor Brownback’s policies are killing Kansas and must be stopped. We ask ALL Kansas Legislators to join with us to re-shape and re-work Governor Brownback’s proposals. GOVERNOR BROWNBACK, WE ARE PETITIONING YOU TO: • Fully fund public education as ordered by the courts. • Honor the state's commitment to its pension and highway funds. • Respect the state’s obligations to ALL citizens of Kansas, regardless of income level, orientation, gender or race.

  • New Mexico School Bus Drivers Missing their 3% Salary Increase
Many New Mexico school bus drivers work for companies that contract with school districts throughout the state. This past year, our Senate passed SB-313 which appropriated funding for all (school) transportation employee's to receive a 3% salary increase (on average). This can be found on page 192, which specifically addresses employee's of contracting companies. I along with over 200 school bus drivers and support staff, (many more throughout the state) have not received any salary increase.

  • Release Vangaurd to Black Hawk County Website
45 counties in the state of Iowa use Vangaurd as their public web search tool. The Black Hawk county assessor uses this program behind the scenes. The search capabilities are superior to that of the interface currently available in this county. The citizens pay for this system, please make it available as the 45 other counties do for their taxpayers.

  • Ban Fracking In Florida: Support SB 166
Florida's delicate ecology and vast underground aquifer system are in danger from oil and gas fracking. We’re at an important moment in the debate over this critical issue: Sens. Darren Soto (D-Orlando) and Dwight Bullard (D-Miami) have introduced SB 166, a statewide ban on this dangerous threat to our water, our environment, and the health of our communities. Sign the petition urging Florida legislators to support SB 166 and finally remove the threat of fracking from endangering the Florida we love.

  • Support BIG Investment in Infastructure Jobs
The Progressive Change Institute asked voters whether they support a massive infrastructure program that would create millions of jobs. It was popular by 71% to 18% -- a bipartisan landslide. The public wants big action! Now, Senator Bernie Sanders is proposing a huge, $1 trillion infrastructure program -- which would create jobs repairing crumbling bridges and roads, expanding high-speed Internet, and increasing access to clean energy. PLEASE vote for supporting BIG investment in infastructure now!

  • Tell the Obama Administration to Prosecute Endangered Species Killers
A little known and decades old Department of Justice policy is protecting the killers of endangered grizzly bears, whooping cranes, California condors and wolves. The so-called "McKittrick Policy" was enacted after a Montana man gunned down a wolf and later claimed he had thought he was firing on a dog. He was prosecuted, though the Department of Justice (DOJ) later decided to accept his self-exoneration by claimed ignorance and has clung to that policy of inaction for years. Endangered species need to be protected from hunters that can simply claim they did not know what they were shooting at. Tell President Obama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch to drop the McKittrick Policy and treat the killing of endangered species like the crime that it is.

  • Petition for Community Garden at Wooten Park of Raleigh, NC
This vacant park is one mile from where I live. I'm starting this petition because having a green space added to the park plan would be beneficial to the whole neighborhood. We have a wide variety of people and a large percentage of them are in townhomes or apartments. They don't have access to gardens like they should. This will also be great for the kids. Bringing the community together through sustainable means is always a win!
