On September 14, 2014, our lives were forever changed upon receiving the most devastating news that our dear friend Bereket Haile “BK” was a victim of a deadly hit and run while he was crossing the 2700 block of Georgia Ave. NW in Washington, DC. The Ethiopian Community in the DMV area is still in shock for what happened to Bereket, we are asking the Metropolitan Police Department to increase the ongoing investigation of the hit and run. We do understand that MPD workload can be overwhelming sometime and we are offering our unconditional help as a community to find the killer. We will not rest until this case is solved nor we will accept this as of yet another unsolved case. Within the past few years we have lost many members of our community and we have yet to find answers for many questions we have asked, we are starting this petition to make the appropriate people aware that this time around the situation is quite different. We as a community are determined to find the answer to the question “Who Killed Bereket?”

My boyfriend, (age41) suffered a massive stroke not quite a year ago. Humana has started denying his rehab even though his attending physician has deemed it medically necessary. Casey continues to show progress and has proven his ability to keep up with the rehab. TxHB2929 states that he can not be denied rehabilitation so long as his attending physician deems it medically necessary. Please tell Humana and CEO Bruce D. Broussard that they must adhere to the law.

Let's rebuild the city the old fashioned way, by building a Cal State Campus in downtown Hemet's forgotten center, before the beautiful old Hemet Elementary School is torn down by county bureaucrats..

The SPROUTS garden has been displaced because of an Indiana University building plan, with no place to go. In its 9 years of existence, the garden has served thousands of students with education in organic gardening, food literacy, sustainability, as well as provided fresh organic produce and medicinal herbs to volunteers and local food agencies, and an environment that fosters friendship and community. Without the garden, SPROUTS almost doesn't exist. Destroying this garden will remove a priceless benefit from the IU community. Relocation is essential for SPROUTS to continue is mission on campus.

The school was negligent in relaying information and because of this Molly has been denied her diploma. This issue breaks my heart.
