Tell the Sierra Club not to co-sign this green wash by candidates running for re-election. Tell them not to endorse people who choose money over fairness and nature ...even when those people are Democrats.

In the next few weeks, the Oregon League of Conservation Voters will be endorsing political candidates running in elections in November. Oregon's elected officials have made drastic attacks on our public forests that will benefit a handful of wealthy corporate timber families while costing the rest of us clean air, fresh water, and the beauty of the Oregon outdoor lifestyle. The OLCV needs encouragement to refrain from co-signing the green wash we are being sold by these politicians.

When officers are required to wear video cameras this will protect the officers as well as the citizens. With the recent shooting death of an unarmed teenager in ferguson Missouri, Michael Brown this could help justify why the police officer had to shoot to kill.

Concerned Citizens Against the Pipeline represents community groups up and down the proposed path of the PennEast pipeline who oppose its construction. Pipelines pose significant safety hazards, destroy woodlands, and contaminate waterways. For property owners, the most immediate impact of pipelines is vulnerability to eminent domain. Local governments can't step in to help. They are exempt from the siting process under federal rules. The PennEast pipeline is a bad deal for everyone on its path.

I have been blind-sided twice this year with premium increases from my Blue Shield of California Medi Gap plan. Never before has this happened to me in my many years of being insured. When selecting a Medi Gap, or any insurance plan, your premium price plays a pivotal role. Also, when you are presented with a 2014 premium, you have a reasonable expectation that it means all of 2014 (12 months, to be exact). Blue Shield's bait and switch and discriminatory practices should be illegal and should not be allowed. My first increase was in March, and I was told that it was due to me turning an odd-number age in February. My second increase came in August, for which I was told was an across-the-board increase for their Medi Gap plan, affecting mostly seniors. In my complaint to Blue Shield, I referenced a document on the Blue Shield web site that states that premium increases based on age go into effect the January of the year following the odd-year birthday. I was told that this document was for their regular plans and not their Medi Gap, their senior plan. Blue Shield justified this practice by saying that Medicare had approved and signed off on this age-discriminatory practice. It cannot be okay for Blue Shield to raise premiums for seniors at will, nor is it okay for Medicare to approve such a plan. For Blue Shield to advertise their premium as 2014 premium is false advertisement and fraudulent. It is not a 2014 premium plan; it's a month-to-month plan that is subject to change at any time, and should be advertised as such. Corporations don't accept this deception from Blue Shield in regard to their employees and neither should Medicare. Bait and switch practices are illegal, false advertisement is illegal, fraud is illegal and age discrimination is illegal. Therefore, these practices by Blue Shield are illegal and unacceptable. If you are a senior, care about a senior, or hope to be a senior someday, you need to sign this petition and put an end to Blue Shield's unscrupulous practices! If we don't stop Blue Shield, your insurance company could be next. This petition is not about high premiums, it is about unfair and, in most cases, illegal practices.

This moveon.org petition is about a Petition to add a Rezoning Referendum in Howard County, MD to the ballot in Nov 2014. The petition circulators, asked registered voters in Howard County to sign the petition in order for the citizens of Howard County to be able to vote on whether or not they want big development in many portions of the county. The circulators got 7000 signatures, more than enough for the ballot. The short story is the developers with their money and their lawyers have served the petitioners with subpoenas and some with writs for potential arrest! One of the intimidation lawyers, William Erskine, is up for reappointment to a position of serious power on the Howard County Economic Development Authority. We find this a most egregious conflict of interest. Mr. Erskine (of Offit Kurman law firm, Fulton, MD) is the prime attorney for the Moxley development firm: Normandy Ventures. He is the one who has threatened and intimidated Petition Circulators with being video deposed, asked to produce intrusive degrees of documents, and, finally, being hauled into court by the sheriff. He, speaking for Big Money Development in Howard County and is out to quash citizens right to free speech, petition their government, and their right to referendum. We do NOT want Mr. William Erskine on the Howard County Economic Development Authority. There will, most likely, be many challenges to zoning in the future. We cannot allow Mr. Erskine to have free reign over citizen’s rights in Howard County.

No child should have to fear judgment or retaliation from professional staff within our school districts. According to emails that have been forced public by the "Right To Know Law" cited by the KEYSTONE PROGRESS EDUCATION LAW and by Billplay.com. The South Williamsport School District Officials ( High School Principal, Superintendent, and School Board President) have been publicly confronted on their behavior pertaining to the sexual orientation of not only the student body but a play that was to take place within our school that was cancelled due to our Principal stating "He had concerns about the homosexual content of the play" and the Superintendent and School Board President attending a public forum and lying about it and stating that not such emails existed and making negative statements about bullying, such as bullying is a natural part of growing up, that bullying occurs all the time in their schools, that every child is subject to bullying, and that school officials and teachers cannot do anything to stop bullying. Bullying is to be legally reported by the District to state yet no reports have been made? I would like to see the District held accountable for its statements and the inappropriate educational philosophy/message forced on our children. There needs to be change , acceptance, and 0 tolerance for bullying in order for success to prevail in this District.
