Many businesses are subject of "shakedown" lawsuits by attorneys and plaintiffs who have no real interest in the ADA, but are focused on the easy targets of small, mom and pop businesses who are shaken down to pay or face the threats of litigation.

I am starting this petition because I am concerned about the health of this planet. We are already beginning to see changes in the climate that directly affect many people. We cannot continue to upset the delicate balance of our eco-systems and not expect the planet to fight back!

Recently, the Michigan Senate voted on to allow hunting of wolves. The vote is a direct threat to these precious wild creatures and democracy. The Senate’s approval now sends the measure to the state House. If lawmakers pass the legislation, it will automatically become law. If they reject it or do nothing, the issue will go on the November general election ballot allowing citizens to oppose wolf-hunting. Gray wolves once numbered 2 million in North America, ranging across most of the continent. But they were nearly wiped out everywhere a generation ago, not least in Michigan. By the time the gray wolf was listed as endangered under federal law in 1974, there were only six left there. However, the species has managed a steady comeback, reaching a current population of more than 600 in Michigan. The survival of wolves will be in the hands of individuals and institutions guided solely by self-interest and profit, if the legislature refuses to let the voters have a say. Also, what could go on the endangered list are democracy and citizens' faith in government. There has never been a single record of a wolf attack on a human in Michigan. In fact, wolves are fearful of people, and avoid them. This leaves only one motive: killing wolves merely for sport, thrill, out of hatred, and for trophies -- which is what brought wolves to the brink of extinction in the first place. Wolves are not nearly the threat to humans as some of us humans are to our own humanity. The Obama Administration has launched a new initiative to protect bees and other pollinators, which emphasizes public education, research and habitat expansion. But this effort falls far short of what's needed. The plan fails to take definitive action on neonicotinoid pesticides -- a key factor contributing to bee die-offs and one they could do something about now. Tell President Obama he needs to take strong and immediate action to save bees and ban bee-killing pesticides now!

IF SO, THE UC WANTS TO HIKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION CO-PAYS to 30% of the cost (TO A CAP OF $150) PER MONTH, PER MEDICATION up to $1,500 annually for UC employees enrolled in Kaiser, and $1,000 for all other health plans. • On July 24th, 2014 the UC revealed its plan to hike co-payments for “specialty RX” from the normal co-pay to what they call a “coinsurance model.” • This “coinsurance model” is planned to be agreed upon by the UC and the insurance companies in September 2014 but would go into effect January 1ST, 2015. • They call this “cost sharing” and it would mean that for every single “specialty RX” that you or your family takes, you would have to pay 30% of its cost, or $150.00 per month, whichever is less up to $1,500 annually for UC employees enrolled in Kaiser, and $1,000 for all other health plans. • They define “specialty RX” as any medications used to treat HIV, Cancer, MS, or Hep C (but there could be others). The surrounding States of MA, CT, MD, NY and NJ have all limited firearm magazine capacity because it will save lives in a mass shooting. As a life long gun owner I support joining our neighbors in this common sense measure to protect our citizens.
