The Fukushima disaster is not only far worse than you've been told; it's very likely going to be worse than you could ever imagine. Ultimately, the entire Northern hemisphere has been placed at risk by a bunch of corporate bureaucrats who thought building a nuclear facility in the path of a sure-to-happen tidal wave was a fantastic idea. Instead of acknowledging the problem and working to fix it like a responsible person would, our world's top politicians and ass-coverers have decided it is in their best short-term interests to play along with the TEPCO fairy tale which ridiculously pretends that radioactive leaks can be controlled by wishful thinking.

Blanca Solis is the hard-working, single mom of Valeria (6 years) and Ulises (11 months), both of whom are US-citizens. Yet, on Monday she could be deported and her kids left without their mom. Blanca’s case is like too many we’ve heard before. After being pulled over for a simple traffic violation, Blanca showed the deputy her New Mexico driver’s license and proof of insurance. Still, she was handcuffed and taken to jail. Blanca has lived in in Las Cruces, NM for almost a decade and if deported, her children risk spending the rest of their childhood in foster care away from their mother. This is un-American and another clear sign of our broken immigration system. But it's not too late for Blanca. Just this week, supporters like you helped stop a similar deportation of a father of four in Ohio when we send thousands of petitions. If we raise our voices again, we can do the same for Blanca. Please join us in telling the El Paso Field Office to stop Blanca's deportation. Blanca's entire family is depending on us.

We formed our union at Ivy Academia to ensure that teachers and other stakeholders have an equal and valued voice and to achieve equitable conditions and pay in comparison to the rest of the teaching community. Unfortunately Ivy wants to keep teachers as “at will” employees and be able to fire teachers for no reason with no explanation, no notice and no due process. We deserve better.

Our county-owned nursing home, Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, provides end-of-life and restorative care for our citizens who need care and who have exhausted all of their resources. We must fight this because: *Our home receives the highest marks for the excellent care given to its residents & their families by professional, caring staff. *There has been no suggestion or evidence of mismanagement of the home. *Most of the residents were not accepted at privately owned facilities. *It accepts all Franklin County citizens regardless of their ability to pay. *It does not pose an unreasonable burden on our county budget. *County Commissioners have given no reason for the sale.
