• Do NOT cut Social Security Benefits!
I, and many others have worked for many years paying into Social Security. Personally, I worked for 49 years, since I was 14 years old, and have fortunately NEVER been unemployed. I voted for, and support President Obama, BUT, he must not take from the less fortunate, and give more to the 'Well to do' - It is simply wrong! Prices on every item go up, everyday, NOT down! I am shocked and very disappointed in our President, that he and congress would allow this to happen. PLEASE, urge OUR LEADERS, to NOT CUT SOCIAL SECURITY, OR VETERANS BENEFITS. I never thought I would get personally involved in this important issue, but I cannot allow the Tea Party/Republicans, or Obama to try to balance the budget off the backs of the less fortunate. Please help. Thank You.

  • Support Public Schools, Stop Voucher Expansion
In 2011, Governor Walker and the Republican Legislature passed a budget that contained the largest cuts to public education in Wisconsin history – $1.6 billion gone from our kids’ schools. Class sizes went up drastically. Quality after-school programs were eliminated. Good teachers were laid off. This year, the governor’s proposed budget freezes public school spending, while increasing funding for unaccountable and unproven private voucher schools. Tell Governor Walker and the state Republicans to stand up for our kids and not special interests that want to profit on the backs of our future generations.

We need just twelve votes to override the veto this Thursday, April 11th. With 77 percent of Philadelphians supporting an override of the Mayor's veto, now is the time for City Council to stand up and lead on the issue of earned sick days. • Stop the Attacks on Public Education In Ohio
The Ohio legislature is considering a budget bill that includes the expansion of charter schools and a "parent trigger" provision. These laws siphon money away from public education and make it easier to shut down public schools and convert them into for-profit private schools. Across the country "parent trigger" laws have not been shown to improve educational outcomes for students. All these laws do is help ALEC-backed corporations make money off of our kids.

  • Don't hurt Social Security
It is imperative that Social Security not be sacrificed. Many old and weak need it to survive. This is without a doubt. Cut the fat in other places. There is plenty of it. Sincerely, Sandra
