Social Security

President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs..

I take care of my mother at home. She depends on SSI for her survival. She has Dementia and other disorders. She served this country by raising 7 children. She raised the kids by herself. We lived on 500.00 per month. She is not a burden on this country. Save the programs that save people and help them get to their feet.

Our government was put in place by us, the constituants. We the people, are the first three words in the United States Constitution, not we the government, we the polititions, not we the lawyers. We the people have paid into the ss system from our first job to our last, who in government decides how this money is allocated? To many who have worked there lifetime away doing jobs that pay only minimum wage, social security would be the only nest egg available, yet many are being turned away. The retirement age is constantly being pushed ahead and because of this push, people havent much quality life left in the upon retirement. The government needs to stop dipping into OUR savings, this is not thiers to flounder away !!!

I would like to be protected by Social security when I retire. It is taken out of our paychecks so we deserve it.

The United States government making OUR previously paid in social security a ponzi-sceme by CHANGING the Promise / entitlement benefit to fit the politicians. I paid in with a promise from the US gov. to receive living amount. You cannot make a promise to get people to pay for something that they believe in and then after paying for 40yrs, changing the outcome. THIS BECOMES A PONZI-SCEME; just like the Enron scandal.

My petition is about having citizens in our state to take part in enforcing gun laws in Hawaii. We should all be concerned because our lives could be at stake. My friend's mother has been shot by a mentally ill person in our state.
