  • Don't Steal From Social Security
As a senior I continually see Medicare cuts, cuts to healthcare and increase of healthcare costs. By tapping into Social Security the seniors will be deprived of their entitled benefits. Their are other areas that can be found to utilize than Social Security. These benefits are for seniors and should be for seniors and not for any other purpose. Seniors are living longer lets not punish them for it.

  • I support disc golf at Pinto Lake County Park
Pinto Lake Championship Disc Golf Course is a tremendous success story, transforming a once overgrown and dangerous public space into a thriving park that has witnessed dramatically increased use from disc golfers, walkers, joggers, bicyclists, bird-watchers, picnickers, etc.. It has hosted large womens tournaments, and even a world championship with hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators. Tom Schot has received numerous awards in recognition of his work at Pinto Lake. However, a small (but vocal) group of residents in Soquel don't understand what has happened at Pinto Lake, and even believe that disc golf has been destructive to the environment and has scared away other park users. They have actually gone so far as to request a significant reduction or complete removal of the course.

  • Don't Touch Our Social Security
Our Social Security is a savings account that we pay into our whole working life, and it is NOT government money! The government is only supposed to put it away for us, protect it, so that we have it when we retire or become disabled.

  • Do not lower Social Security or Medicare Benefits
Every senior citizen and retiree will be affected. These are a group of people who have worked hard all of their lives, trusting that the money they paid into social security would be their's when they could no longer work!!

  • Don't reduce Social Security with chained CPI
Many older people need or will need every dollar of Social Security they will get under current formula and it is still not enough. It's as important as raising the minimum wage to $10 nationally. We need to do both.

  • Cuts to Social Security Unacceptable
President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. Some seniors are already forced to turn off their heat in winter (or A/C in summer if they have that luxury), eat canned foods with no meat, or go without necessary medications as they desperately try to make ends meet month to month.
