Seniors and Veterans are not responsible for the United States debt and deficit. The fact is U.S. Treasury has borrowed 2.72 trillion dollars from the Social Security Trust Fund. Your constituents need you to VOTE NO on cutting cost of living increases to seniors, Veterans, and their families. We are watching our representatives and we will find someone to protect Social Security if you don't.

Social Security is not the right place to address the deficit. Tell the President and your fellow members of Congress not to support any cuts in Social Security and not to change the way cost of living increases for retirees are calculated.

This will be the majoority of my livelyhood when I turn 65. I've worked hard all my life and have paid my dues and deserve a return.

Many Seniors Are Already Struggling!

President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs. This directly affects clients that I work with daily. This also effects people who are dear to me, my family.

Social Security is necessary and required to maintain fiscal support of seniors and the disabled.

Social Security is suddenly not so secure any more - even though it could be! This is a major problem for recent college graduates like myself to our baby boomer era parents to our grandparents.

In the modern era of commercial food supply, it is clear American Agribusiness wants to keep consumers in the dark. In fact, corn, soy, canola, cotton, alfalfa, papaya, sugar beets, zucchini, and yellow summer squash are commonly cultivated in chemical resistant, genetically engineered forms with no labeling requirements. Consumers have the right to know whether the foods they purchase contain genetically engineered material. Manipulating genes and inserting them into the commercial food supply is an imprecise process that produces results that are not always predictable or controllable, and could lead to adverse health or environmental consequences. Without mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods, consumers may unknowingly violate their own dietary and religious principles. More than 60 countries around the world, including the European Union, Russia, China, Japan, and South Africa have laws mandating the disclosure of genetically engineered foods on food labels. Consumers should have the choice to avoid purchasing foods that could cause adverse health and environmental consequences. We stand with the thousands of families, farmers, and advocates in helping Florida lead the way on labeling genetically engineered foods. We have a right to know what’s in the food we’re eating and feeding our families. STAND UP FOR CONSUMER RIGHTS. VOTE YES ON HB 1233, SB 1728, or any piece of legislation requiring proper labeling of genetically engineered foods.

There are people very close to me, including family members that count on their checks to survive and if social security gets cut, they will end up in the welfare line or on the street and we don't need that.

I do not want any cuts to Social Security. We need to take care of our own - our own people who are older and have worked their guts out all their lives and now they need some help as they are no longer able to work any longer. Let's help our own - not just give all our money away to foreign aid. Let's be a strong nation and help those who have helped us!!!!!
