  • Social Security Cuts
I will be affected by the cuts to social security if President Obama gets his bill through. Consider other seniors who depend upon the SSI income they receive to live by and financially supply their needs in this society, for example, I make $447.00 every month and as you can see this dollar amount is well below poverty level. All of us have paid into this fund all or our working lives. It is not our fault if the U.S. government "borrowed" the money so that Social Security not longer has the funds that we American citizens put into the system toward our future retirement/welfare ... and it was done in good faith.

  • Do Not Cut Social Security
Seniors and disabled individuals in this country have been strongly, negatively impacted by the economic problems this nation faces. Individuals such as myself, have paid into the Social Security system for decades and many of us depend on this source of income as the only source or significant source of income. The cost of living adjustments are the only method for many to keep pace with the rising cost of living.

  • Save Social Security From President Obama's Fix With Repblicans
Saving social security and medicare, too, really, from President Obama's new "fix," which will lower the amount that current social security recipient's and future recipients will receive on their monthly checks including increases to meet market increased cost of living. President Obama may be advancing his bill only as a measure to appear to be willing to work with republicans and other conservatives, but maybe not. If that is his strategy it may backfire on him and all of we seniors, present and future seniors. We simply cannot take a chance. What needs also to be done is to have Lois Capps write her own bill which will insist on all SS monies to be taken out of the General Fund, as it was originally intended to be put in its own fund and kept there to keep both sides of the aisle from robbing Peter to pay Paul.

  • Don't bail on Social Security!
These social security cuts are targeting some of the poorest of the poor. How can you just toss out years of hard work and payments into this system? Has greed trumped common sense in the Whitehouse? Please reconsider the ramafacations of suffering on massive scale. I am ashamed of American Government pulling the rug out from under seiniors disabled and mentally ill. After Reagan made sure all our mentally ill got dumped onto the streets in 1980's Now US Gov want to dump physically disabled on the street with grandma and grandpa? Since Social Security has no impact on our deficite then all logic points to raping Social Security benifits for some pork fund folly or pay some bloated tax exemt contractor back wadges for some war machine! ''We The People' will not stand by and let you rob us of our seinors and our disabled friends physical and mental. Reconsider robbing the American public for your own political shortcomings. Sincerely 'We The People' and Jessica Brown

  • NO Cuts to Social Security
Both my husband and I will be negatively affected by the proposed elimination or reduction of cost of living adjustments, as well as other cuts in Social Security. With the rising costs on everything else in life that are necessities, we and our generation who have paid into these funds, should not be penalized.

  • Saving Our Seniors by Saving Social Security.
I am a senior that relies totally on my Social Security check. The Cost of Living increases helps to offset increases in living expenses e.g.rent.

  • No Cuts In Social Security
My wife and I are both 65. Because of losses due to the economic downturn in 2008-2012, we lost all our retirement income other than Social Security. We voted for President Obama but we DID NOT vote for him so that he would cut Social Security.
