Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people have been let go from their jobs to allow corporations to save money on payroll or insurance premiums. Most are older workers or employees who "run up" the premiums with frequent healthcare visits. They sign a statement to remain silent about details and circumstances of their exit, in exchange for a meager severance. However, by law, if New Company X calls Previous Company Y about the fired or laid-off employee, X can ask Y "Is s/he (the candidate) eligible for re-hire." A "no" from Previous Company Y, without explanation, is a nail in the coffin for the candidate. This is an unfair and discriminatory practice: the ex-employee cannot comment about Y but the Y, by answering "no" to the eligibility question, says it all and can totally destroy the ex-employee's chances for employment. This situation requires immediate legislative action to ensure that people are hired based on skills, experience and abilities and not on the bias of a former employer.

Vernon T Bateman is a young man wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit! Please spread the word and join us in New Castle Dec 9th 8am(est). This all started in 1998 when he was charged of rape without any proof, only based on accusations. The rape kit was done but not used to set him free. He had the burden of proof. This is a wrongful conviction! Based on a sworn statement from Doctor Winston when this case was first brought to trial, there was no evidence of any forced entry, semen or DNA on her to convict Vernon Bateman. Nurse Koppen testified that she perfomed the sexual assault kit and was given to Det Mary Banks and was passed on to prosecution. The prosecution testified it was destroyed, We must put a stop to this injustice!!! Help us bring this to justice! Vernon has been locked up again because of Parole. They are making it hard for him. Its almost like he has been framed. We are asking everyone to please join us in New Castle along with his attorneys and our Congressional leaders on December 9th for a hearing to determined if he will be freed or not. The board has to hear both sides. Lets come together. Enough is Enough!!This has happened to many. How many more do we have to fight for? Our goal is to reunite him with his daughter and family and free him and vindicate him of all charges! To God be the Glory!!

East Orlando (Orange County) residents have been blindsided since 2010 by new expressway construction and demolition that has damaged homes, lowered property values, wasted $70 MILLION in taxpayer monies, and increased traffic gridlock. Prior to its 2010 inception, the local Expressway Authority gave NO warning or notice and held NO Public Meetings with area residents. This ongoing project will NOT end until 2014 or 2015 and represents a HUGE violation of the FL Sunshine Law -- but there are currently NO grounds for criminal prosecution.

Police Violence and institution of Men of Color killed on imprisoned. Men work for less than minimum wage for big corporations. When leaving prison, they have nothing.

Who "owns" our elections and politicians? Those who pay for them. The power of the electorate today is controlled by special interest groups and the very rich. Only "we the people" should shown "own" elections. The public alone should fund elections. Then, the currency of elections used to decide who wins will be the ideas and policies of candidates, not dollars.

Gov. Snyder and Michigan's Republican State Legislature are planning to rig the electorial college in future Presidential Elections. Their plan would make Republican districts count more than Democratic districts in the next Presidential elections. Tell the Govenor to keep Michigan a winner take all State where the winner of the popular vote will win Michigan because this is the fair thing to do.

Lets take the time to redo the ccc program, this will help put people to work and redo the Infrastructure. This will give the youth something to do and job skills.
