• Make it Illegal to Gas Animals in Missouri
January 31Posted to Make it a National law to mak… by Inthename This is in regard to a method of sending large numbers of poor unwanted and often sick animals across The Bridge still widely used across our nation that is in fact nothing short of Animal Cruelty. This needs to be stopped. The animals suffer terribly on their way out of this hateful world. Before they pass, they suffer through on average 40 minutes of first steady anxiety as they're packed into the death cage one by one then outright fearfulness as they're then locked in... exploding into sheer terror as they're plunged into total blackness, erupting into violet fighting with one another- defecating and vomiting convulsively as they gasp desperately but in vain for air that's suddenly but permanently, mercilessly no longer there. Even some, honestly, I wonder if aren't scared to death in the process. This is totally wrong and against the laws of nature, so why not the laws of our states? This law should be directed at the shelters using this technique of punishment, which in fact it is, a punishment none of these innocent ones ever deserve. How can this type of torture be called "euthanasia"? Along with 30 other states, Missouri is still using this horrific method of execution. Please help us, the undersigned, in the fight against this all-too-widespread form of animal abuse through gassing by not just making it illegal to send animals to a dumpster by this process, but by making it illegal to even construct or own any such devices used to carry out such a terrible crime against nature and the innocent ones that trust us the most. Shameful. There is just no other word for it.

  • Stop The City From Taking Your Home
HELP CHANGE THIS LAW!!! This is a serious issue. The law states that if you owe back property taxes for more than 2 years the third year the city you live in takes your home and kicks you out! No matter how much you owe wether it be a thousand dollars or a couple of thousand, if you can't come up with the money to pay it off your out in the street. How is this fair?? Especially when the value of your home is worth far more??? I heard of an elderly woman who couldn't pay her taxes and she lost her home! This law is totally unfair! There are other ways to punish people. What right does the city have to take your home and turn around and sell it??? They didn't pay for the home. The American Dream of owning your own home is a nightmare! worrying if you will have the money to pay your property taxes, worrying if your going to lose your home to the city. How is that a way to live????

  • Support the Position of Obama on gun control
If you love your country, think about the people who are being killed with guns. Gun and firearm control is good for the people and the country. Those who manufacture firearms can do some other business to survive.

  • Protect the environment and support rural communities in this year’s Farm Bill
The Farm Bill is the most important piece of legislation for rural America. But its future could hinge on a key meeting in early February between two adversaries: House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson (D-MN). The Farm Bill funds critical programs that create rural jobs and revitalize rural communities. Yet some Republicans support using the bill to slash investments in the future of small towns and family farms. They even aim to cut the Conservation Stewardship Program, which prevents farmers and ranchers from being able to improve soil and water conservation. This has gone too far. Tell Congressman Boehner and Congressman Peterson to protect the environment and support small towns and family farms in this year’s Farm Bill.

  • Single Women Over 50 - no deductions after kids leave the house
We have no deductions to take on our taxes because our kids have moved out and started their lives. We have no breaks. It is an issue. It costs as much for electricity, water, rent, house payment, car payment, car insurance, home insurance, food, gas to get to work, as it does anyone. After no deductions to take in this economy with lesser paying jobs there needs to be a tax break. And needs to be a change in FAFSA on income guidelines.

  • ownership of our own physical self is unclear.
There are many issues that would become moot if the question of body ownership was settled. End-of-life, birth control, and right-to-life conflict would be resolved with decisions being made by those directly involved at the family level, rather than by others whose belief system may not be our own.

  • Put Me On Your List NRA
The NRA just came out with their "enemy list" where they name the organizations and people who do not subscribe to their views. We need to let the NRA know that their fear tactics and policies are out of line with what the majority of Americans believe. Gun-control advocates are not out to take away all your guns, but we are trying to put in place common sense measures that will keep us all safer. If the NRA wants to 'demonize' people as enemies for opposing their views, put me on your list NRA!

  • Colorado Health Reform Does Not Help The Underinsured
My working family members need preventative health care. Insurance companies have set the deductibles so high that we cannot afford preventative care or life saving surgery. We do not qualify for the free clinic services because we are UNDERinsured and not UNinsured. None of my working family members are old enough for Medicare. We need to put a cap on the dollar amount that health insurance companies can ask for annual deductibles when it comes to preventative care and life saving surgery.

  • Use the housing rescue money, only $5 of $50 used in four years.
My home has lost 30% of it's pre bank caused housing bubble value. I am a virtual prisoner under house arrest. I cannot sell my house and pay off the bank loan at the same time. Banks working on behalf of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and other investors will not use forbearance to help me rebuild that equity. Servicers will simply delay, delay , and delay some more before they simply say no any help of any kind. But if are unlucky enough to fall behind on your payments, they will swarm on you and race to foreclose on your home.

  • Gun control
The dead and wounded of our nation require us to stop our current thinking and actions and eliminate guns from our society. We do not need guns, and they hurt us.
