Lower the Price of Parking and Traffic ViolationsThe price of parking and traffic tickets has skyrocketed over the past five years. While our state needs funding, the price of both parking and moving violations has reached a level that inconsistent with the income levels of many California residents, causing undue financial hardship. People do lose their cars in some instances because they cannot afford to pay the high price of car-related fines. Los Angeles, as one example, is a city that often requires driving and from the workplace; it does not yet have a fast, reliable public transport system and has long traveling distances. Parking fees throughout California have risen along with the cost of meter violations. The cost traffic and parking violations does not significantly reduce violations of traffic or parking laws. The costs are overly punitive and cause more problems for tax-payer's than the money generated for the state solves. If you would like to have the cost parking and traffic violations significantly reduced, please sign this petition.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Yvonne

No limitations on Rape ChargesSome states have 3 day rules to report a rape. While this makes some sense think of how it affects the smallest victims - children. It may take more than three days to report a rape - the victim should be able to report the rape when they are ready - this limitation should be illegal. Also some states have limitations on the time period to convict a rapist - as this crime is one of the worst next to murder there should be no statutue of limitations on rape. A rapist should be convicted and a victim should have ample time to report the violation as it is a sensitive conviction. And if the rapist manages to hide from the law for 7 years this is not a reason to drop the conviction - there should be no statute of limitations for a rape conviction. Laws applying to rape cases - eliminating these restrictions to victims should be federal law so that the states cannot interfere with victims constitutional rights.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrea

Standardize door size in CaliforniaI have spent a year trying to find a house that fits a wheel chair because of substandard door ways. There is actually no standard in California. Interior and exterior doors, including bedrooms and bathrooms, private and public, need to be at least 32 inches wide with room to maneuver a wheel chair on both sides of the door.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Linda Brown

Require a mandate in gubernatorial elections. The Governor of Texas should be elected by a majority vote. It is a shame that any elected official should hold office with only 40% of the votes going to him or her.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Donald Perry

Good Enough For YouCongress habitually exempts themselves from laws they pass to restrict or control the behavior of their constituents. I propose a Constitutional Amendment to require that all laws passed by Congress apply to all members of Congress, their aides, and employees, just as they do to American citizens.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Singleton

Medical Marijuana State RegulationsIt is time for the state legislatures to pass statewide rules and regulations to govern the medical marijuana industry in California. It is only in this way that we stand a chance of blocking the federal government from interfering with the rights and needs of medical marijuana patients and the dispensaries which supply them.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Mallick
