The Penns Manor Area School Board wants to fire district's cafeteria employees and hire a private pro-profit corporation. We need to send a message to the school board that our jobs and our taxes should stay in the Penns Manor community! Our community is not for sale! Stop the campaign to privatize our public schools!

There is Fraud, Waste and Abuse in all areas of the Federal and State Governments. Millions could be saved if there was a more strict program that required auditing of all government programs. This should be more in-depth audits for programs such as Government Procurement, Medicare, Medicare and all entitlement programs. There should be requirements for states to be required to audit and control all funds received from the federal government. The savings would pay for the employment required for Auditors and would create skilled jobs.

Uranium mining presents a radioactive contamination threat to Lake Gaston, a water supply to my home in Norfolk, as well as to residents of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Government officials, like Sen. Saslaw and other members of the General Assembly, have a sworn duty to protect the health and welfare of the general public and the environment as opposed to corporate profits.

Republicans are using the same threats that they used in 2011 to hold the debt ceiling hostage in order to get their way. We need to keep our government open and running. Help me stop this.

I am proposing a 50 million Mom march on February 14th with two clear requests of law makers. Fund comprehensive community based mental health services and ban assault weapons and amo.... How about flooding Congress with 50 million Valentines with these requests? Makes sense to me!

This has to be done or our country will never be the same again. Congress has done nothing in the last 12 years but drag down this country instead of doing the job that we the people have voted them to do. As citizens of this country we should feel proud of our country, but from what i see that has changed so we need to change the individuals that are causing all the havoc.

Climate Change wasn’t addressed in last year’s elections, and there is no serious legislation moving through Congress to address it. Climate Change is probably the most important issue we face right now, even more important than the federal budget, gun violence and other serious issues. If we don’t address climate change, then none of these other issues will matter. Our elected officials—Democrats and Republicans—are ignoring the reality of Climate Change. The media don’t report on it. So it’s up to us to demand a serious plan to address Climate Change. Send President Obama and Congress this simple message.

There is a White House web site for the public to write Petitions and gather signatures. Once a petition has 25,000 signatures it will be addressed publicly by the White House.The gun nuts are using it profusely and networking NRA members, etc., to keep any gun control from happening. This is where Alex Jones started a Petition to deport Piers Morgan because he's been having forums on gun control and believes assault weapons should be banned. When Alex was on the CNN show, he acted insane -- yelling and gesturing and threatening Piers and calling for armed revolution. The thought of him with any firearms is scary. Anyway, his fans signed by the thousands and have another Petition to charge Sen. Diane Feinstein with Treason for proposing an Assault Weapons ban. They have many Petitions on the site to go after anyone who supports any gun control and of course, the usual threats to the President. People should be concerned about this issue, because Congress is the recipient of government largesse in a way that no citizen is. Perhaps Congress would be less glib about the changes they make that affect the elderly and disabled if they received the same insurance from the government.

Aaron Sandusky was personally targeted by the DEA for legally dispensing marijuana in accordance with California law. More states have, and will, legalize the growing, sale, and distribution of marijuana. American citizens should not have the fear of federal prosecution while they are within their rights in their respective states. A clear message needs to be sent by the President that pursuing individuals under an outdated federal law will not be tolerated.
