I urge the President and congress to pass a new law that requires all gun purchasers to acquire liability insurance. We require licensed drivers to have automobile liability insurance, why not gun owners? Both cars and guns kill people, therefore insurance would add a sense of responsibility to owning a fire arm.

There are too many unanswered question regarding the attacks that happened in America on September 11, 2001. we need everyone to come together and demand a Real investigation to find out what really happened. These unanswered questions need answers and they must be TRUTHFUL!

If a member of congress serves only one term,they are"entitled" to health care and pension for rest of their lives. Cutting this out will save BILLIONS of taxpayors dollars and cut the defecit. NOBODY "retires" with bebefits after only 2 to 6 years on the job!!!

I have three kids, they are 22, 20 and 14 years old. By the time my oldest graduates from college I'll have $160 thousand dollars debt just for her and she would have a debt of $30 thousand dollars. The higher education cost is outrageous, our kids should be able to get a free or affordable college education.

Recently a woman was raped for almost an hour by six drunken men on a Delhi bus. When they were done with her, one of them stuck an iron rod into her vagina and yanked it out with so much force that her intestines came out. She is on life support. We want to say we solidly stand behind the protestors of the gang rape in India. The protests there are swelling by the day all over the country, and we should act here. Our protest will be peaceful, but powerful and we are going to make sure the Indian government hears our voices.

UPDATE: The Elected Representative School Board (ERSB) referendum will appear on the ballot in 38 wards in the February 24, 2015 Municipal General Election, the result of a successful campaign by the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), Grassroots Education Movement, United Working Families, Grassroots Illinois Action, SEIU HCii and scores of volunteers throughout the city of Chicago. There were no objections filed to challenge the approximately 66,000 signatures on the ERSB petitions, which will appear on ballots in all of Chicago’s wards except for 2, 9, 11, 13, 18, 23, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44 and 48. We must stop the corporate management and data reliance driven approach towards reforming and maintaining our school structures. We cannot have political appointees who who have no accountability to the parents and children of Chicago. Students are not just data and teachers are not just parts that need to be managed. The Board should be selected by the people, the voters of the city of Chicago. The ultimate goal must be that resources are exhausted so that every neighborhood school is a quality school. This can only be achieved through an Elected Representative School Board. Election requirements could mandate specific qualifications and cap campaign expenditures, thus reducing the nasty side of politics. While the actual makeup of this board can be up for debate (half appointed/elected, fully elected, district wise breakdown, parental involvement, Local School Council member involvement); the debate NEEDS to start, and it needs to start NOW!
