  • Restore Our Jobs
The hugh negative foreign trade deficit in goods has cause the loss of millions of jobs in the USA. My own sons have been affected by this situation, as well as some others I know. Reducing this deficit by half will eliminate our unemployment problem.

  • No More Newtowns
Comprehensive registration of guns at point of purchase, and registration of guns at subsequent sale, transfer or gift of guns; halting sales of assault weapons and mass gun clips; and expanding mental health services to those in need. Whatever can be done to reduce the likelihood of another mass killing should be explored.

  • Gun Moratorium Now
Gun sales are soaring after the horrific massacre of innocents in Newtown, CT on Dec. 10th 2012. Gun enthusiasts are afraid of restrictions and are therefore rushing to build their hordes of the worst kinds of assault weapons and high capacity magazines. It is a deadly frenzy that only worsens the climate that has produced 16 mass shootings in the US this year. There are already enough guns in circulation to match every human in the country—almost 300 million. That is more than enough to hold us until Congress can take effective action to reign in what is currently out of control.

  • Fix Social Security by saving more
Social Security will run low on funds (though not as fast as fear-mongers state). To balance it requires either cutting benefits (including raising the retirement age) OR putting more money in. I'm in favor of raising the tax about 1% for employees and employers, so that benefits ARE NOT CUT AND THE SYSTEM REMAINS SOLVENT. If you survey 50 and 60 year olds I'd bet overwhelmingly they are glad they paid into Soc. Security and good benefits are coming. Do this and all the current 20 and 30 somethings will be glad when they reach 50 or 60.

  • Legalize Hemp Farming in the United States
Hemp is an alternative crop that can be farmed with little or no chemicals and is a sustainable natural resource that can replace the harmful processes of deforestation, strip mining, paper pulping and fracking. Its many uses include oil for fuel and plastics, paper, the strongest natural fiber in the world for textiles and building materials, and a nutritious food source. This fast growing crop used to be grown by farmers nationwide, and could resuscitate the depleted earth and the farms of this country. My clothing company, Minawear Luxury Hemp Loungewear, must outsource to China because it is illegal to grow in the US.

  • Reduce CO2 input from wild fires
Global warming increases with rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere. Especially in the last few years, huge forest and range fires have put thousands of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. Better management of federal lands west of the front range of the Rockies could reduce this threat.
