Americans all over have been touched by acts of violence. 26 angels were taken on Dec.14th . We need to end the sale of assault weapons. Wal-Mart needs to take a stand and pull these weapons, it may not make them money but it will save lives and there isn’t a dollar amount that you can put on that.

Please don't cut our SSDI/SSI because they are ready suffering their budgets very tight. They are not easy to live themselves and trying to support their children uneasily. Let us leave all Senior Citizens and retirees alone. They need to enjoying their lives to travel Las Vegas before they will be expired.

while our government wishes to cut social security and medicaid even though they have nothing to do with the deficit according to USAID we continue to send 50 billion dollars in aid to other nations . obviously this does contribute to the debt . so why isn't that on the table ? lets tell our leaders to stop lying to us . stop aid to foreign nations DONT CUT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICAIRE

Our rights as Christians to have the freedom to pray where and when we want to. I see our Christian rights slowly being taken away from us while non Christians rights are being supported.

I live in Stockton, CA, site of the first big school shooting in 1989, when Patrick Purdy shot 35 children and teachers before killing himself. In all that time, we've done pretty much nothing to prevent the next one. As a result there have been dozens more, and now there's Sandy Hook. How many more dead kids can YOU handle?

Washington wants to cut Social Security benefits as part of the fiscal cliff negotiations. Seniors have worked hard to earn these benefits and don't deserve to be sold out. Stand up for America's seniors!

I was having a political discussion with my nephew and it occurred to me that he and I believed a completely different set of "facts" about the same situation. We should not rely simply on "belief" to decide the direction and future of our country. We need to demand total honesty from our representatives, leaders and government.

The thought of my 5 year old grandson having to be exposed to guns by armed guards and / or teachers every school day and at every school he attends scares the hell out of me. At the NRA press conference, their solution to the Newtown, CT massacre on Dec 14, 2012 is to suggest putting armed guards in every school in the United States. This has to be the most expensive solution to the problem of gun violence and keeping our children safe to impose on our local governments, schools and citizens. Obviously, the NRA did not bother to suggest the means to be used to pay these armed guards. I propose that the US Congress, State governments and/or local governments impose an excise tax on every registered gun and owner of $1000 per annum to pay for all these armed guards in every school and other public places.

Too many politicians have been trying to promote the idea that Social Security has been a "primary" driver to raising the National Debt. Nothing could be further from the truth! As a person who has worked since age 14 at age 53 I was told to stop working by doctors due to a chronic medical condition. This has made me, like so many elderly and disabled, dependant on small monthly checks to survive.

Senator Sherrod Brown: Conduct a filibuster (if needed) to prevent a deal to cut Social Security benefits as part of the fiscal fight. Social Security does not add to the deficit. It should not be on the table for any fiscal deal!

I believe that if people would be held liable for their guns they would be more diligent about keeping them locked up. almost everyone I grew up with hunted & owned a variety of guns. kids and irresponsible family members could not gain access to them.
