• Social Security Cuts
I am disabled and cuts to Social Security would be the difference whether I eat, have money to buy my meds, or have money to pay for lights and water. In other words, cuts would mean I would have to go without something that I need to live.

  • Social Security
I'm sick of senior citizens being used. We did not get a cost of living for two years and that hurts. I'm sick of them talking about the Bush tax. He helped put us in this mess. I'm sick of there not being leadership in Congress. The wealthiest should pay more taxes.

  • Stop Social Security Cuts
"I am currently a disabled American who receives Social Security benefits. My monthly check is not enough to cover my living expenses. My retirement check will be a bit more, but still not enough to live on. These cuts should be stopped."

  • Equitable and Logical Program Reform
The majority of working taxpayers in this nation pay Social Security and Medicare taxes on 100% of their income their entire lives to earn the modest benefits of these programs that sustain them when they are no longer able to work. The 2% vigorously resisting paying less than 7 cents per dollar above $250,000.00 pay these taxes on less than 45% of their income, while those receiving $1,000,000.00 pay on barely more than 11%, and those collecting 10,000,000.00 are taxed on only 1.1% of their income for Social Security and Medicare. To address entitlement reform, eliminating the 99%+ tax break received by the wealthiest 1%er's would essentially eliminate the unfunded liabilities in Social Security and reduce the federal deficit and national debt substantially by equitably funding Medicare.

  • Social Security Cuts
I am a mentally ill 51 year old widowed female receiving Social Security benefits. If you cut my Social Security, which I paid for myself, I am sure my mental health will go downhill fast. Please note that the U.S.A. OWES money to the S.S. fund, so why don't you pay back what the government owes S.S. before deciding to cut it. The U.S. debt to S.S. was even included in the deficit amount that has been determined! We need to help the mentally ill more than ever here in the U.S.A. Please don't cut one of the only chances they have to to ever get treated for their mental illness.

  • Repeal the Second Amendment Now
Enough is enough. Americans shouldn't have to be worried that an irresponsible gun-owning parent's recklessness will result in the slaughter of their young children at school. We need REAL gun control. Stringent rules such as those in Australia or the UK. Dramatic reductions in the numbers of guns in American homes. In order to do that, we must first repeal the 2nd Amendment, to remove the deadly constitutional right of all Americans to own as many lethal weapons as they desire. Repealing the 2nd amendment won't automatically make all gun ownership illegal, but it will allow us to move forward and create the rational rules we need for the 21st century.

  • Food or Meds if You cut Social Security or Medicare
Next month I, as well as other baby boomers, will be 65. We have worked and paid into social security, and me personally since age 15. Due to illness I retired at age 62. But as far as myself and the rest go, if you reduce cost of living or cut money from Social Security or Medicare you put our health at risk. I personally take meds that have no generics. One med is $200 for 30 pills and another is $80. I have signed up for Plan D for meds and that costs $36 a month. Well, do I get my meds and not eat or do I eat and not get my meds. This is what you force me and the other baby boomers to ask. The health of seniors is at risk. We have worked and supported the system and surprise instead of help we are the first on the chopping block. Please reevaluate your policies and cut the waste. We are NOT the problem Boehner wants us to be. It is always the Rich want to stay Rich. They have excuses, we have health issues. More money taken from us is certainly not fair. If I heard right during the debates some 7 million dollars already was taken from Social Security or Medicare and I do not know what it was used for. I do not recall being asked if I wanted that money taken or used for something other than helping us in our Golden Years, which Boehner is tarnishing fast. The word entitlements means exactly that. We seniors ARE entitled because we paid into the system. Now when we are vulnerable as we age, our rights need to be protected just like the money WE ARE entitled to. ANY cut to social security or medicare puts us SENIORS at risk and should be stopped.

  • Stop Social Security cuts!!!!!!!
For the millions of folks of the baby boomer era, such as myself, Obama is willing to send us to early suicides or homelessness by curtailing the cost of living interests to us at retirement. We need to STOP HIM from keeping this concession on the table, as MOST of us do not have SAVINGS or an IRA, or any OTHER monies to fall back on like when FDR started this program way back when. Please sign this petition as it is going to render most of us homeless. This is URGENT, my cost of living was going to go up 1 dollar this year from 874 to 875 per month as of January 1, 2013. None of us can live on this meager existence as the cost of everything from housing to utilities to food is going up. Please sign now!

  • STOP CUTS TO SOCIAL SECURITY
I live on Social Security because my life savings was lost in the 2008 bank scandal. President Obama lied in his campaign promise to keep Social Security off the table in budget negotiations. What are we seniors to do? Eat cat food? Even that has become too expensive.
