Reducing Social Security benefits will reduce the money for our groceries, medications, health needs, and costs of daily living. We have limited income. It is difficult to stretch our budget without the income we have saved and count to have available for expenses. Our benefits are a large part of our monthly income.

There are too many guns now to take away, but that doesn't mean we can't tax assault weapons, require bi-annual licensing and proficiency tests, control the amount of ammunition that can be sold or accumulated.

I am a factory worker who has developed Fibromyalgia and this condition is a constant health issue. Being able to retire at an early age will allow many to focus on their health treatment and not work with this debilitating condition while enduring the heavy work loads of today's society. Every job should be categorized for retirement age according to the types of work preformed, to ensure equal quality life for all U.S. workers.

President Obama made an offer to Republican John Boehner to cut Social Security benefits and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%. The cuts in Social Security would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by." For many retirees this would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities.

First I'd like to make sure that people are aware of the fact that Social Security does not add to the Nation Debit. It is a 'stand alone' program. It takes money into the system via payroll deduction and then pays out from that fund. The Republician Party for years have been trying to get rid of Social Security. After the devastation at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the president has claimed that he will make gun control a priority issue. On the presidential website, Whitehouse.gov, a person can choose to question or comment on 17 subjects, such as 'Health Care' or 'Taxes' or 'Civil Rights'. 'Gun Control' is not listed. If gun control is indeed a priority issue then at the very least it should be added to this list.
