End Electoral College/" The results of the presidential election is determined by a system that no longer reflects the will of the voters throughout our nation.Since computers are able to count accurately the popular vote they should be used exclusively to fairly decide our next president.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by anne pritz

Tuition HikeWell I'm a student at York College. Recently their been changes to our tuition, now we have to pay a part of our tuition. I had to pay $123.00, towards my bill. I was very un-clear about this change. I was used to having Tap and Pell cover this part. This made things a bit hard for me because not only I have to pay for this also my daughter's day care. It is getting a bit expensive because I also work at a minimum wage job that does pay as much. I'm struggling to go to school and work because I still have other bills to pay. I thought Finical aid can ease the stress by paying this portion it will make life a lot easy. I'm worried about other students does not have a jobs How are they going to pay for school ? Even worse they have to pull out a loan!! This could effect one's credit and life!!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Luisa m Clarke

Thorium-based Molten Salt ReactorsOn the one hand, Americans - and humans in general - have benefited enormously from zero-emission nuclear energy. On the other hand, the waste that could plague us for millions of years combined with nuclear proliferation make it a sharp, double-edged sword. How about looking at thorium-based molten salt reactors? We can get rid of 100% of the long-term waste left over from conventional nuclear energy. Plus, with the molten salt fuel acting as its own coolant, it's not plagued by the one issue common to all the safety problems we've ever had: using very high-pressure water as a coolant. It's about the same price as coal: 2 cents per kilowatt hour. Finally, it burns up all the nasty, weapons-grade material that is harvested from conventional nuclear energy. Let's give it a shot!181 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Boyd, Ph.D.

For Democrats to fact check all speeches at national conventionI would like for the Democrats to fact check all speeches made at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. This will show the Democrats as honest when they criticize the Republicans for lying.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Charlie Berry

Voter SuppressionI am concerned about possible voter suppression. Therefore, for voter ID, if you voted in a prior election, whatever the method of identification that was used by you and accepted; thus allowing you to enter the voting booth to mark your ballot and to submit your vote, can and will be used as your voter identification in perpetuity. That is, you grandfather the voter, much as we do in most cases when a standard is revisited and or revised. And, to eventually lead to a standard nationwide ID; at reaching the voting age of 18, people must register to vote, much like the process which was in place when we turned 18 and registered for the draft in the fifties. That gives an individual anywhere from one to four years to acquire the needed voter's ID before election time.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Cortez

6 year, one-term PresidencyI would like to suggest that rather than a 4 year Presidential term of office, with the option of a second 4 year term, we change to a single 6 year term with no second term option. I belive that first it would give a leader and his/her team a chance to initiate changes and have enough time for the policies to mature and perform during their term. Further, it would eliminate the (typical) two year period of campaigning for a second term, that cannot help but detract from quality management of the public's business as our national leader. I also believe that it might dramatically reduce the escalating financial cost of our 4 year election cycle.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Russell Rudy

Obama: Save the Arctic from Shell OilOn August 31, the Obama administration, over the opposition of environmental organizations, granted Shell Oil a permit to drill for oil beneath the frozen Chukchi Sea. A leak or spill in this part of the Arctic Ocean could kill thousands of marine mammals and Polar bears, yet Shell's planned oil containment ship has notified even been certified by the Coast Guard. We're calling on President Obama to revoke Shell's permit until scientific study can insure that a leak or spill can be contained and cleaned up before it kills endangered and protected Arctic species.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Glen Van Slyke

PASS A LAW REQUIRING ALL CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT TO DISCLOSE AT LEAST 5 YEARS OF TAX RETURNSMitt Romney's refusal to disclose at least 5 years of his tax returns leaves the public wondering what he has to hide. All citizens have a right to know as much as possible about a Presidential candidate in order to make a reasoned decision about who to vote for. The candidate's tax returns tell a lot about the individual and in past years candidates have been willing to voluntarily disclose. However, Romney's refusal shows the need for legislation to require disclosure.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joyce Krutick Craig

LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD for political campaigns in America!American Citizens must call on the US Congress to "Level The Playing Field" for every electoral campaign in this country by limiting the amount that any campaign or political party can spend on advertising in support of any given candidate. Specifically, limit the total permissible airtime minutes on all TV networks, per candidate, per election. If all are treated the same, this is not a First Amendment issue as some people claim. Caps for advertising spending would be different for city, county, state, and national elections, but SOME kind of reasonable limits are needed to prevent wealthy individuals and/or organizations from unfairly influencing election outcomes. I want the American public to collectively put pressure on Congress to enact legislation to that end.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sam Weinstein
