  • Nationalize The Federal Reserve
We, the people, must be the custodians of our own monetary system. Everyone is affected by the policies of our banking system, and it only makes sense that it must not be under the control of private interests. The policy makers of the federal reserve need to be elected officials that are held accountable by the public.

  • Tell Rep. Kelly: Access to birth control is not like terrorism
We couldn’t make this stuff up if we tried. Congressman Mike Kelly compared the implementation of the Affordable Care Act to Pearl Harbor and September 11. To be fair, the notoriously anti-woman Kelly was speaking specifically about the women’s health component of what he calls “Obamacare.” Kelly objects to the idea of women having access to birth control wherever they work. Here’s what he said: "I know in your mind you can think of times when America was attacked. One is December 7th, that's Pearl Harbor day. The other is September 11th, and that's the day of the terrorist attack. I want you to remember August the 1st, 2012, the attack on our religious freedom. That is a day that will live in infamy, along with those other dates." It’s one thing to disagree about public policy. It’s quite different when you equate access to birth control at work to Pearl Harbor or September 11th. It diminishes the value of the lives lost in both of those attacks, and it insults the tens of millions of women who use birth control. Kelly needs to apologize for his outrageous insult to all Americans. This kind of vitriol is not acceptable for an American Member of Congress.

  • Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution
Military personnel only get 50% of their pay upon retirement. Members of Congress retire with full pay after only serving 1 full term. I propose that the legislature cannot pass laws that apply to the citizens of the United States that do not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.

  • Part Time Workers
Taxes way too high. Make our Government workers all part time workers. Let them pay there own health care and no retirement plan. Lets take back our rights to low, low taxes. The more money they take the more money they spend. There seems to be no end to it. Lets start now..

  • To Consumers Fight Back getting Builders Regulated and Licensing
My Petition is about getting builders regulated and licensed. I know that people will agree with this issue. So many homeowners are being ripped off by builders who build shoddy homes and get away with our hard earned cash. Politicians recieve big money toward their campaigns (take a look at my state, Texas and Governor Rick Perry is getting big money from Perry homes, other builders as well and he's protecting the builders and not the consumers when their home falls apart, its a shame. I know I went through it, stayed persistant and I won my case without an attorney but due to a gag order I can't name the company but I want stop until all builders in Texas are regulated and licensing.

  • Huntsville City Council: Pass resolution no.12-567 Substitute "A" denouncing corporate personhood...
In January 2010, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in the case of Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission (FEC) that declared corporations to be equivalent to people and money equivalent to speech, opening the door to unlimited corporate spending in elections on an unprecedented scale. This decision was a disaster for American democracy. The purpose of this petition is to urge the Huntsville City Council to pass Bill Kling’s proposed resolution expressing Huntsville’s support of a constitutional amendment or other legal or judicial action that would effectively reverse the Supreme Court’s decision, thereby limiting corporate influence and restoring democracy in our elections. This has become a unifying issue among Americans. The Washington Post has reported that 80% of voters aware of the Citizens United ruling feel that unlimited corporate spending is having a powerful coercive impact on the outcome of elections. A 2012 poll by Pew Research Center (PRC) revealed that more than two out of three (67%) of those polled, including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, felt that the ruling has had a significantly negative effect on the political process. The Supreme Court’s decision allows the free speech rights of a corporation to dilute and outweigh the free speech rights of ordinary citizens. Given the gridlock in Washington, it falls to we the people to push our local government to join the fight in overturning this decision.

  • Update N.C. Cemetery Laws
At present, N.C. cemetery laws do not address the establishment of 'conservation (or natural) burial grounds', which combine much-needed land conservation with a 'green' cemetery. Polls show that many 'baby boomers', such as myself, would choose this method of burial if it were available to them. We would be grateful to the cemetery commission if current regulations were amended to make this possible for citizens of our state.
