  • Shrink Wall Street speculation
It is time for the U. S. Congress to pass a Wall Street speculation tax, both to shrink the amount of speculation and to raise funds to offset the downside of their risky behavior. A .03 per cent tax on all trades as proposed by Iowa Senator Harkin and Oregon Representative DeFazio would generate $350 billion in the first nine years. It is time for Wall Street to be responsible for itself and its effect on the country.

  • Pay for Power
When you generate your own electricity through solar panels or wind turbines, the unused power goes back into the power grid. Most states do not require energy companies to pay for that energy, so the power companies get your energy for free and sell it to other people at full price and full profit. Sign this petition to urge US Congress to pass a national law requiring power companies to pay the market rate for electricity that you generate for them.

  • Election Strategy
The campaign election politics are pathetic on both sides. Millions upon millions of dollars are used to bash opponents while thousands of kids in America go hungry and schools are being shut down.

  • Abuse of powers by authorities in Brooksville, Florida
Brooksville City Council members and the local police chief have used one of the oldest tactics in the fight for justice and civil rights. They are using the police force to intimidate a local candidate for city council. Going after her daughter and an 87 years old friend; to make a federal case out of a clerical error! And with help from the local Housing Board, staff, executive director, project manager, the state prosecutor, local judges and the public defender office to rail road Mr. Boston for running for a position on the city council. He is running against a candidate that has held the seat for the 17 years over time. And is running unopposed. His goal is to tear down the local low income housing project, where Mr. Boston live and sell it to the local developer fordevelopment. Moving hundred of democrats out of the city and their natural birth place.

  • Congress Term Limits
I am requesting that the government enact a two term limit on the Senate and House of Representatives positions. For too long our policies and government structure have directly opposed the type of people we want and need to enter into these political positions. We are incentivizing the wrong type of people into office by not having term limits. Currently when people run for these political offices they know that once elected, all they need to do is manipulate public opinion to keep their job. Instead of sitting here and blaming each of the non-performing individual sitting in Congress without any results, we need to enact these term limits as doing such will drastically and forever change the type of people we are attracting. We are executing the textbook case of insanity by thinking that we can change the "game" by only swapping out the "players". The current "players" are only in these positions because the current "game" is attractive to them. We need to attract individuals who are willing to sacrifice their lives and current livelihood to come serve the greater good. Without term limits, we will always attract the bottom feeders seeking the easy road. Please sign this petition and pass along to all you know. If this passes, this would be the piece of legislation that has the biggest positive impact on the American Government system since the beginning of our great country.

  • Need to Regulate News Headlines
McCarthyism is not about the content of a statement--it's about bypassing a Constitutional regulation which would demand generic headlines be supplied based on the "subject' or "issue" and ban statements that contain neither attested facts, standards based evaluations as bona fides for being permitted to use value terms or a statement of science.

  • Campaign Contribution Deficit Tax
The absurd amount of money flowing into our Political system is not benefiting anyone but the networks and the Wealthy. I am asking that citizens united need not be overturned but taxed at 30% rate that will pay off our deficit in no time. This will allow the candidates to still raise money and show that they are helping the country while fundraising. They can show how much money they have raised to help the country and be proud of helping their country!

  • Make Voting Accessible and Convenient in Ohio
Voters in Summit County can expect long lines, confusion about times, and where they can vote during the upcoming early voting period for the 2012 election. That’s because the Summit County Board of Elections is deadlocked on extending hours for early voting and choosing an early voting location that is accessible and convenient for voters. It doesn’t have to be this way though. The Board of Elections can vote again and if one of the Republican members switches their vote, Summit County voters will have more flexibility and accessibility making early voting easy and convenient.
