Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Hunter S! We need truthful, concise, objective history. Read from all sides, debate, form an opinion; instead of a sugar coated half truth! We need leaders who think for themselves, not memorizing dates. Fox News sound bites are trite and offensive! Civil rights for all, teach a class society, a racist, homophobic, anti over zealous truth to our youth! Let them chose not be brainwashed by our propogandized money run nation! Yes, I'm a bit biast towards the left; but teach all sides. In short form not force an opinion ( I don't even have children!). Civil rights and public disclosure; we owe it to the new generation's not formed by reality TV and biast news. Knowledge is freedom, not force fed lies.

Financial Institutions recently bailed out with billions of taxpayer dollars are hurting the nation's economy and ruining the lives of millions of hard-working ethical people who are trying to do what's right. Even if you've paid on time for 15 years without missing a single payment they will still charge you between 20 and 30% interest if they feel they can get away with it (i.e., if they feel you are "trapped" into paying them. This is not only wrong, but they don't deserve such a luxury. They did not take the risks - they were bailed out with our money. There is no logical reason to allow them to hurt our fellow Americans and to slow down our economy with their usury rates. We must repair our economy and prevent more homelessness and poverty that these institutions are causing.

I suggest to create a few additional Bus Lines having the acceptable schedule (every hour or every two hours in both directions) in order for people who can not drive to be able to reach important destinations located in different cities of the State of Maine.. Currently, it is not possible to be able (for the regular person) to return from the destination point to the point which he / she left the same day... There is no such possibility currently..

110K Japanese-Americans, 15K German-Americans and approx. 3K Italian-Americans were sent to interment camps during WWII. Currently only 16 states require the Japanese-American internment to be taught; ZERO states require that the interment of German and Italian Americans be taught.

Civil Rights : The president of Chick-fil-A restaurant has made his stance against gay and lesbian marriage and equal rights . We are trying to stop bullying in schools and colleges and a business like this is portraying hatred by speaking out against equal rights to the gay population . We don't need more hatred on College or school campuses .

Certain individuals and corporations seem to have unlimited funds to spend to push their agendas and buy influence. We need a Special Tax on those monies spent for political advertising and lobbying. Let the People share in the sale of their futures!!!

Every October we turn our clocks back an hour,why? Hawaii & Arizona keep there long days of summer all year long, lets do the same.Lets keep daylight savings time the way it is today!

Animal cruelty is a huge issue for me and many Americans. These K-9s were law enforcement peace officers which are an integral part of the force. This Deputy Steve Benoy left them overnight in his hot patrol car which resulted in death by heat exposure. This is completely unacceptable! San Antonio Texas in July is extremely HOT! No animal or child should EVER be left in a car in the heat! Any citizen that assaults or kills a peace officer, whether human or K-9 will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A Sheriff Deputy should not get special treatment or be above the law. This is not the first incident Bexar County Sheriff's Department has had with killing their K-9 officers by leaving them in hot patrol cars but we can make sure this will be the last! Please sign my petition to prosecute Deputy Steve Benoy. Just because he is the law does not mean he is above it and this is the message we need to send to all law agencies. Watching the damage inflicted on people by guns and ammunition in Aurora, CO and hearing of the economic consequences to the injured individuals, I wondered what approach would result in those who profit from guns and ammunition being held economically responsible for the results of their trade.

There has been far too many DEADLY attacks on the GLBT people, and the guilty have just gotten away with a slap on the hands. NO MORE!!! I am not going to tolerate this anymore. I know way too many people that will join with the GLBT community everywhere. We must put a stop to this evil, and put the guilty in prisons for no less than 5 years

This is an environmental / quality of life / noise pollution issue: I live in San Francisco where there's enough noise already -- without all these motorcyclists riding their super-loud "hogs," setting off car alarms, disturbing daily life. What's with these people and their "I am the loudest!" antisocial behavior? It's beyond inconsiderate. One theory I've heard is that they're compensating for something (a part of their anatomy?) that's lacking? I'm concerned that if nothing is done, the noise levels will only continue to increase. Rather than accept this as the norm, let's speak up and change our reality. I can see this issue growing like wildfire since many people I've spoken to share the same feelings. Also, in the coming years, as more hybrid cars hit the road (with their auto-off feature whenever they come to a stop), we'll slowly be tilting the balance toward a quieter street life. Imagine that?
