• Cape Henlopen State Park Beaches Open or Closed
Okay so here is the Deal! The Stats are written above and are available on CHSP website. It's time that the Residents of Coastal Sussex County get involved in assuring that there is always access to the Beaches, trails, fishing piers and all other amenities at Cape Henlopen State Park. Its time we start talking with our Representatives, Senators, Governor and The Vice President (His Name is immortalized within the Park. What are we asking them? WHO IN THE WORLD SAID "CLOSE THE PARK"? We are asking them "why in the world" would this massive park with miles of trails, miles of Ocean & Bay Front Beaches and Acres of Open Space, EVER BE CLOSED. Then we are asking them what they intend to do to provide the Funding to ensure that this is the last year that this happens. This park should never be closed, if they need more staff, then let's figure a way to get them there, if they need more parking, then lets find a way to create temporary overflow parking. Let's face it folks if you are going to "The Beach" is another 1/4 mile of walking going to stop you. OPEN THE PARK AT SUNRISE -SHUT IT DOWN AT SUNSET!

  • Federal Taxes: The 3% Solution
Federal Taxes are unfair. We all know that the percentage of payment by the working class is a higher percentage than the super rich one percent and above of this country because of their deductions and designations of investment income. We all know that the working class does not enjoy the deductions of the very rich. The working class are hurt by their unfair tax burden which does not allow them to live a productive and fruitful life. But more importantly, in these financially troubled times, it does not allow them to be consumers. And, consumers are what makes this economy work. We all know that the rich are not "job creators" no matter how many times the Republicans lie about it. Consumers make the economy grow by buying products and services that create the demand for business to make more products and services. This creates the need for business to grow, prosper, and yes, create more jobs to meet those needs. It's something any child can figure out. This is the problem. However, there is a very simple solution that will not only create a fair tax structure but will also raise more taxes and save billions in the process by making taxes so simple the paperwork can be done on an index card. It will also eliminating millions of dollars in expenses by drastically by shrinking the work of the IRS; It is The 3% Solution.

  • Tell Congress: End subsidies to US rice farmers now
In 2010, a catastrophic earthquake devastated Haiti, killing hundreds of thousands of people, and displacing more than 2 million others. Two years after the devastating earthquake, Haiti is still struggling to rebuild. Right now, Congress is debating the 2012 Farm Bill. Continuation of subsidies to US farmers, including US rice farmers, is one key item on the agenda. Ending these subsidies would save US taxpayers billions of dollars, and would be an important first step towards sustainable economic development in Haiti. The Senate has already passed a Farm Bill that eliminates these subsidies and now the debate has moved on to the House of Representatives. Ending these unfair subsidies now is an opportunity to eliminate a policy that has undercut Haitian rice farmers for decades. This would be an important first step towards sustainable economic development in Haiti. Tell our leaders in Congress that ending subsidies to US rice farmers will help Haitians rebuild and recover.

  • Obamacare or the country
why are you wasting time appealing and arguing over Obamacare 33 times? your focus as members of congress should be this country and what it needs. I realize Obamacare has its faults but it's not the focus point. The focus point you should be working on is how to create more jobs and jump start the economy again. Under former president Clinton this economy was the closest its been to the positive. that is what we need not arguing over a law that was passed through congress and signed by president Obama over 2 years ago. We the people of the United States of America want jobs and economic growth not bickering in congress.

  • Save the Emergency Services
My name is Maeve Semo. I am a volunteer firefighter. Recently there have been many cuts in emergency services all over the country. For example, in Pennsylvania all firefighters are now making minimum wage. These are the brave and women who risk their lives every day they go to work to save us. They are not being treated with the respect they deserve. When they leave their jobs because they can't afford to stay there who will be left to save us?

  • Lesbian couple kicked out of Richmond, KY park
As a 26 yr old male who recently "came out", I still have lot's of memories from college. Richmond, Kentucky was a where I spent my first two yrs of college. It's an amazing college town with the capability to positively impact the minds of thousands of young people who are very impressionable. Now living in San Francisco (and out) I have a much clearer picture of how humans should be treated no matter their race, gender, sexuality, etc.. I read this story from a Facebook post and felt sick to my stomach that these sort of incidents still happen in parts of the US. A lesbian couple taking photos in a public park in Richmond, Kentucky were kicked out by park officials for a mere kiss on the cheek during a photo shoot!! The city of Richmond has so far taken NO ACTION and avoided the issue all together. Read the full story here: http://www.kentucky.com/2012/07/11/2255727/call-for-gay-rights-fairness-law.html

  • Stop Wealthy American Citizens, Banks and Corporations from abusing foreign tax shelters
Various investigations have reported that some wealthy American citizens, banks, corporations, and other entities have been abusing our income tax structure for many years, avoiding by not paying their fair share of tax revenues, making use of off-shore foreign tax havens to do so. Consequently, their tax burden is lifted from their shoulders and placed on those of us who have chosen not to abuse the tax system.

  • child protection
Child abuse. Law enforcement, attorneys, social services are not equipped to properly handle domestic and child abuse. They are reading from a Manuel and do not understand the absolute fear and control the abuser has. A social worker or guardian ad litem should have expierenced this fear. In rural counties everyone knows everyone and the GAL should be from out of the county to be protected and un-biased.

  • Constitutional Repeal
Repeal of the obsolete and dysfunctional U. S. Constitution of 1789. Individual states operae autonomously or in their own regional groups pending a new Constitutional Convention that would fix the ambiguities and defects in the old document, upgrading it to contain rights taken for granted in to genuinely advanced nations (such as nation health care, no right to corrupt the political process under the guise of free speech, etc).
