• Put medical marijuana on the ballot in Encinitas
Enough signatures have been gathered in Encinitas to put a medical marijuana bill on the ballot. The only problem is that the city has canceled the only council meeting where they can vote to put it on the November 2012 ballot. If that meeting doesn't get reinstated, the voters of Encinitas wont be able to vote on this issue until 2014. Please sign the petition to ask them to reinstate that meeting.

  • VTA: Kids Shouldn't Pay!
When I recently moved to San Jose, I wanted to do what's best for the environment, and my wallet, by using public transportation whenever possible. My first trip to the grocery store on VTA left me shocked when I discovered that a single mom with 2 young children ends up paying $16 per day to take VTA! We're calling on VTA to encourage the use of public transportation by allowing children too young to ride alone (under 12) to ride free with a paid adult.

  • GOING OFF THE CLIFF IS A GOOD THING
The best thing that can happen to the US on January 1, 2013 is to let the Bush tax cuts expire and, at the same time, let the agreed upon massive budget cuts take affect. The net result of letting these two events occur will be to literally drive the country "off the cliff", fiscally that is. What this will do is free up the Congress to draft a new tax code that will "cut" taxes for everyone EXCEPT the super rich retroactive to January 1, 2013. Because it is a "tax cut" Republicans will be forced to vote aye and thereby honoring their pledge to Norquist.

  • Honor the victims: Keep Negative Ads off Colorado Airwaves
I have lived in Colorado for 17 years, 14 in the Denver Metro area. While I have not been personally affected by yesterday's shootings, I am struck this morning by the way violence and hatred are woven deeply into our cultural fabric. After this senseless act of violence, let's do something that makes sense. Let's change the political conversation in honor of the victims.

  • Reinstate the Federal Assault Weapons Ban
President Clinton passed the Federal Law that bans Assault weapons & high volume cartridge magazines for these weapons. This Federal Law was allowed to expire under President George W. Bush. Nobody except Law Enforcement & our Military should have access to this type of rapid fire, high velosity & mass automatic reload weapon. A regular citizen such as the Aurora Movie Theater Killer has no business being able to purchase this type of weapon LEGALLY because this type of weapon is not necessary for home/personal protection OR for sports hunting. THIS LAW AFFECTS ALL OF US, ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN.

  • Marriage Equality for Pennsylvania
On May 9, 2012, President Obama spoke in favor of marriage equality in an interview with ABC News. In his strongest show of support, he affirmed that the right to marry should extend to same sex couples. Please tell all your friends and neighbors that this petition seeks to send the same message that President Obama spoke to our leaders in Harrisburg. People from all over the world, who may very well travel to Pennsylvania deserve to be assured that marriage equality is granted here and their lives and loves will be protected here. We owe that to visitors, and we most definitely deserve it as citizens of Pennsylvania. Thank you for all your support.

  • Obamacare
The Supreme Court of the United States has spoken. Please don't get in the way of the benefits many Texans will receive from the Affordable Care Act, Governor Perry. Allow its implementation and accept that it is and will be the law of the land, despite your deep philosophical disagreements with it. Thank you.
