  • Help investigate Halal Market and save a rabbit
I went behind the scenes in this market/slaughterhouse (you can pick out your animal to be killed) and I was horrified. Workers poking crammed chickens in cages with a huge poker that looks like something you would use for a grill, no adequate food or water, and animals in bad shape. A rabbit with a broken leg and back that was left there to suffer, (I bought him and sadly he was in such bad shape that he had to be euthanized). It is illegal to sell injured animals yet they did for 20 dollars. Animals left in filth, goats petrified when you approach them, just a horrible atmosphere all around.

  • Give it Back!!
In the wake of the Aurora shootings, any politician who has received campaign donations from pro-gun groups should immediately return them. Or if they choose not to do so they should explain why they feel it is imperative to keep their donation.

  • Fix Gun Control Now
After the shootings in Tucson, AZ in 2011 and Aurora, CO on July 20, 2012, we need to stand up to the NRA and pass the Fix Gun Checks Act, along with other legislation, to ensure that massacres like this do not happen in our country again.

  • Give the Little person a Chance: Equalize Taxation
When wealthy persons pay their taxes, they often have multiple deductions amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars and saving them from paying taxes. Lower income persons who have few deductions often end up paying a higher percentage of their meager incomes than the very wealthy, (regressive taxation). Lets make it even: No taxes at all on the first $22,000 of income for everyone, and then no other deductions allowed. Period. In one stroke the little guy gets a chance to save without having extra dollars taxed away, and the wealthy get equal treatment before the law.

  • SOMETHING FOR SAVERS
Our couintry has trusted the financial indrustry to be good stewards with the infrastructure of "how" our commerce is administered. However, it has been an oversight of all of our regulating agencies that those same financial leaders are ruining the lives of many. Most people cannot find safe options to save for retirement or college. All banking institutions do not provide adequate returns, even though their profits are greater than any other time in history. Since we cannot force banks to increase their paultry APR, our government needs to recognize that Americans deserve to save for themselves without the banks control. Why can't we have a chance to control our own lives? SS is being depleted everyday. Stocks are over valued and reeks of ponzinysm. Banks are surely playing hardball - look at the profit margins. It is even illegal to have a bonus or profit sharing options while being regulated as a federal institution. Who are supposed to enforcement these laws? If we can establish an option for people who simply can't afford to play games with their money, that would help fix the economy, probably faster than any tax break. Say 5-6 % APR. Let us SAVE OURSELVES.

  • Petition to finance the world's best infrastructure with 100-year, zero percent Treasury bonds.
To spend more than tax revenue provides, the Fed sells T-bills on the open market and pays interest on the bonds, creating a serious annual debt interest expense and adding to the national debt. This restricts spending on infrastructure necessary for competing in a world market. During World War II, the Fed bought Treasury bonds "at any price and in any quantity" to finance the war. The price was very low and the quantity was very high. The money paid salaries which, after the war, turned old farms into new suburbs, starting our golden age.

  • Constitutional Ammendent to Repeal Citizens United
We the people demand an ammendment to the U.S. constitution to prohibit corporations from making campaign contributions to any person running for public office, directly or indirectly. We also insist that there be a limit to the ammount a private individual can contribute to the campaign funds of elected officials or parties. No one person should be permitted to contribute more than $100,000 in total per year to all the campaigns they choose to support. Our elections are not for sale. We will choose our candidates based on their ability to serve the people who elect them, not on their ability to raise advertising funds. Campaign spending must be fully disclosed, regulated and limited.

States that require photo I.D.s for voters should be obliged to provide mobile units in areas where the office is 5 or miles away. These units should be placed outside of churches and supermarkets for ease of use by those who cannot get to Motor Vehicle Departments.

  • Lets minimize second hand smoking. Please stop smoking while walking!
It's mainly about my concern with avoiding potential health issues that are caused by the smoke inhaled from second hand smoke. People that smoke have decided against their own risks of health problems to smoke, unlike the non smoking population. We are subjected to inhale the smoke that smokers let put at almost every turning corner of the city. I just want the same freedom and ability to choose. I choose to be smoke free. I know that people are their own person and make their own decisions, but when those decisions affect more than just one individual it is viewed as a problem. There are babies (children) that are constantly subjected to this. Smokers should have their freedom to smoke, but in their own home or in a designated area where other smokers are. Walking along in the street with a cigarette on hand should not be allowed at all. It will help with the pollution as well. I'm not a public figure, just a concerned mother. I see how many people die each year just from issues brought on by the effects of second hand smoke inhalation. Did they have a choice? If this law is to be passed it will minimize the number of death from second hand smoke inhalation, and In turn help with the healthcare issues that these conditions cause by bringing the number of hospitalizations down due to this very problem. My community has a lot of smokers, and i choose to stand up for what is right, and we deserve to have clean air to breath as we commute to work, school, and any other place we decide to go without being subjected to endure these conditions. Bad enough we have other issues to worry about with our community and our children; this would help all those that choose to not smoke stay healthier. Thank you for taking the time out to read my petition. i hope you can sign it and support this cause.
