• Tell the Pope: Rescind the attack on religious Sisters
The Vatican has accused the Sisters in the U.S of not speaking out loudly enough on certain issues, and has given 3 bishops authority over their leadership for five years. If the Sisters do not cooperate, they will be disbanded. This attack has been aimed at the Sisters who faithfully staff our schools and hospitals and charities and parish programs and prison ministries, homeless shelters and so much more. They live simply, sharing their meager salaries with their elderly and infirm members. Catholics and non-Catholics alike love and respect these religious women and need them as faithful examples of how to follow the Gospel message of Jesus. They show us what it means to love God and love our neighbor. Truly, they are Sisters to us and we need them. Our love and respect and appreciation for these Sisters compel us to speak out to support them in their time of trial.

  • Support Independent Practice for North Carolina Nurse Midwives
North Carolina is one of only five states that still requires nurse midwives to practice under the supervision of a physician. These laws have no scientific or medical justification and limit access to health care and women's reproductive rights. I am a home birth certified nurse midwife in North Carolina, and because of this law, I am unable to provide care to women choosing home birth.

  • Lottery Profits for Education...
When California wanted the Lottery, they stated that the proceeds would go to fund education. That was not true, the proceeds go into California's General Fund. Now that money is tight, the California legislature is cutting back on all education funding. California already has one of the densest student per teacher ratios in the country. California also ranks near the bottom for computers in the classroom. This petition puts the California legislature in a position to guarantee the education of all California children by taking the proceeds from the lottery and disbursing them directly to schools in California.

  • Dept. of Veterans Affairs Needs to Send Certified Letters Before They Take Money From Disabled Ve...
Money has been taken from disabled veterans because we did not get letters before hand. This has cause a hardship for myself as well as 1000s of more veterans. This needs to stop and the VA needs to make sure veterans get the info before hand that way we can make informed decisions and get the proper paperwork in time to stop this wrong doing.

  • Finish the Shoreway Project
Several years ago the Ohio Department of Transportation promised to right the wrongs of the past by turning the West Shoreway (Ohio Route 2) into a 35 MPH Boulevard and opening up the lakefront to the residents of Cleveland. Progress has been slow at best and has now come to a complete stop. Sign this Petition to tell Governor Kasich and the Ohio Legislature to finish the job!

  • Service For All
Bolster pride in our country by giving citizens the experience of personally investing in America and in the world. Too many grow to maturity never knowing the satisfaction of personally giving their time and skills to directly benefit humankind and country. Ask anyone who has given of themselves in this manner and they will tell you that their service was the hardest job they ever loved, and personally life-altering for the better. We can show other nations that we are a country and a people who care about others, our country, and our world.

  • Super majority of votes in election needed to pass Washington State Initiatives
Tim Eyman has wasted Washington State's time and money on numerous unconstitutional voter initiatives, and that is nothing compared to the damage to the state that could be done if he managed to submit an initiative that passed that wasn't unconstitutional. Furthermore, it is much easier for special interest groups to buy Tim Eyman's support than it is for them to buy state government officials, which means the current initiative process unfairly tilts power towards the wealthy. By requiring a 2/3 vote to pass new initiatives it will take that destructive power away from Tim Eyman and special interest groups.
