Killing and terrorizing innocent citizens in al qaida-like fashion is classical terrorism. There should be no double standards.

Publicly elected representatives (such as congress) should be prohibited from signing declarations pledging allegience to positions crafted by individuals such as Grover Norquist. He is among other things known for the "Taxpayer Protection Pledge", which was signed by 95% of all Republican Congressmen and all but one of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates, to oppose increases in marginal income tax rates for individuals and businesses.

Being a native Vermonter, I have a natural appreciation for the beauty in my home state. This could change drastically should a tar sands pipeline be built here. Just the deforestation required to maintain the pipeline would be a travesty in this beautiful State. A leak in the pipeline would pose a direct risk to local species and our water supply.

Amendments and proposed laws are often written using obtuse wording that can be construed in several different ways. In physics, the laws of thermodynamics are set out in plain, simple language. If elected officials can't present state laws and amendments simply, then they should not be in a position to write state laws and amendments.

People should sign the petition to put an end to disruption in our classrooms and violence in our schools by supporting the adult staff members who are in a position to change the hostile environment preventing all students from succeeding.

My name is Michael Pellicano. I am a quadriplegic who relies on the critical funding of the Home and Community Waiver Based Programs which help provide caregivers for the elderly, sick and disabled. The funding cut enacted by Gov. Corbett and PA legislature reduces care workers already low wages by $.45 an hour. These care workers receive no benefits of any kind. In addition this funding cut will hurt those most in need of assistance with basic daily care they are unable to do for themselves. Please tell Gov. Corbett and the PA legislature to stop these funding cuts.

There are too many out of state students admitted to VA colleges forcing the taxpayers here to subsidize other states red ink. VA colleges should be for Virginians with no more than 5% admitted from other states. Once that happens the taxpayers in VA will be more willing to better fund state institutions

as a former high school student, i have issues with the food distribution system where i frequently didn't eat because i didn't have a place to sit.

Support manditory recycling for businesses with more than 4 cubic yards of waste per week, and families with 5 units or more.

Instead of regulating soda sizes we should attack this obesity epidemic at the source. The truth is people do not become obese by just drinking a lot of soda but rather by making multiple poor choices in their health. Now what I'm proposing would only affect obese people. Obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 and above. So I propose a healthcare tax on anyone who is obese. An obese individual would pay an additional fee on their health care costs until they reduced their BMI. Furthermore any parent with children who are obese would have additional costs added as well. Obesity is not a right as an American. It should be treated as a privilege. Now no one should be obese but if an individual chooses to be obese they should accept the consequences of it. A tobacco smoker pays more for their healthcare costs because they choose to make poor health choices. Someone who chooses to eat super large sodas and fatty foods regularly should have the same conditions enacted on them.

I feel that our government has become absorbed by their own import in all things; education, taxes, health care, retirement ... . It is time for the people to remember that this government was formed "... to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it ..."

I would like to challenge the media to investigate the businesses owned by the big PAC donators, ie Koch Brothers. If information is provided, we as consumers can boycott their businesses and hurt them in their pockets as they seem to have no problem messing with our policitics.
